It was only when they were docked that Ed put the leash on her collar. There had been a discussion about this, one where she tried to compromise and persuade her way out of it but he wasn't going to allow that to happen. She knew why, and she believed that he didn't like it any more than she did but he was right. If they were found out as Union officers they would be in a lot of trouble. The hatch in the back opened and Ed headed out with her walking behind him trying not to stumble in the obnoxious boots that she was wearing.
A man was there waiting for them. He was dressed in all black. His leather jeans had chains and various emblems pinned to them. A metal chain was around his neck and the tight V-neck shirt he wore only showed off how extremely muscular he was. He was also tall. Maybe even a foot taller than her. Something that may have been intimidating if she didn't already know she was stronger than this guy who was only a human. Ed seemed to feel a bit differently since he wouldn't be a match, and he had to have known it.
Introducing:
"You really stole this ship?" The man asked.
"Yeah, what's it to you, then?" Ed replied, speaking with that accent again. The man chuckled, his eyes seemed to shine with amusement. She had to admit that despite his rather intimidating physique he was attractive. Short brown hair, chiseled jaw and cheekbones, and green eyes that seemed to glow of their own accord. "You the Overseer or whatever that was?"
"No. I just work here." He sighed, "The name is Avery. Yours?"
"Shark and Bambi." Ed motioned to her with a nod of his head almost as if it were an afterthought before looking back to Avery. "Who was that on the comm then, has your eyes."
"My brother." Avery said, "He's a...special case. No need to get into that. The Overlord will see you now but you will be frisked for weapons."
"Naturally." Ed nodded, "Come then." He tugged at her leash as if he actually had to do that to get her moving but she started to follow him as Avery led them through the docking bay past numerous other ships and various species other than human. Some she wasn't even sure she'd seen before, including something that looked like a bird and human hybrid complete with feathers and wings. She tried not to stare, if they were supposed to be pirates she assumed this was also supposed to be normal to her.
"Been doing this for long?" Avery asked, glancing over his shoulder at them briefly before turning back to watch where he was going.
"Not long, no, found my little pet had a knack for it and though, why the hell not, yeah?"
"I can imagine having something like her around would make it easier. Where do you hail from? Earth I take it?"
"Yeah, London."
"The Overlord is as well. He'll appreciate that I'm sure."
She swallowed hard, clenching her jaw as she attempted not to yell at this guy for referring to her like she was some kind of object. Being seen as a pet was bad enough but being called a thing instead of a pet? She wasn't a tool or a gadget. She had feelings. Ed would probably attempt to make it up to her somehow later but for the moment that wasn't something that was going to happen and she had to switch focus. Do as she was told and hope that they weren't found out.
