Yibo found himself standing, in a vast field, bathed in the golden light of the setting sun. The wind was gentle, carrying the scent of a familiar perfume—one that had faded with time but was never truly forgotten.
"Zhange~~~??"..........Yibo's voice was a whisper, trembling with disbelief.
From the horizon, a figure emerged. His hair was tousled as always, his smile as soft and warm as Yibo had remembered. It was Zhan, standing tall and radiant, just as he had been in life, with none of the sorrow that had once clouded his eyes.
"You came?".......Yibo's voice barely a whisper
"I never left".... Zhan's voice was tender, his gaze filled with an unspoken promise.
Tears welled up in Yibo's eyes, his heart beating faster—Zhan's heart. The weight he had carried for all these years, the grief, the guilt, and the love, it all swelled inside him, but there was no need for words. Zhan already knew.
"You gave me your heart. You gave me your life," Yibo whispered, his voice breaking. "But You... you never taught me how to live without you."
Zhan smiled, stepping closer, reaching out to touch Yibo's cheek, the same way he used to, long ago. "But, you did live. You lived for everyone—you lived for our parents, for your wife, your son, for me. You lived even when you felt you couldn't. And that's all I ever wanted—for you to live."
"But I was always dying inside," Yibo confessed, his voice shaking. "Every day without you... it felt like I was fading. Can't you free me now? Can't I just come with you? It's so long, I am tired gege."
Zhan's expression softened with a mixture of sorrow and understanding. "I know," he said, gently brushing away a tear from Yibo's face. "And so, I am here. it's time. You've done all you needed to do. You've carried your oaths, your responsibilities, with more strength than anyone could have asked for. You are free now."
Yibo's heart ached, though not with the same dull pain it had carried for decades. This was different. It was the bittersweet ache of longing, of reunion. "Free????? But dad...Qin....Yuan....will they not blame me? Call me selfish?"
Zhan shook his head gently. "You gave them everything you had to offer. They'll be fine. And they'll remember you—not with sadness, but with love. Just as you remember me."
The weight on Yibo's shoulders lifted, and for the first time in years, he felt truly free. He gazed at Zhan, his heart full, the love he had buried deep finally rising to the surface.
"I missed you so much," Yibo whispered, his voice breaking.
"But I was always there," Zhan replied, pulling Yibo into an embrace that felt like coming home. "Now you can be with me. Forever."
Yibo closed his eyes, feeling the warmth of Zhan's presence envelop him. The pain, the loneliness, the burdens of the world—all of it melted away, leaving only peace.
In the distance, the sun sank lower, casting its last rays across the sky, and as it did, Yibo felt himself being lifted, no longer tied to the ground, no longer weighed down by the life he had carried for so long.
A luminous aura escaped from his body so as from Zhan....their hearts.....it tied with a red thread promising their strong, unbroken bond. They smiled to each other as finally both soul weaved in air.
Bye bye everyone👋👋
