Gi and Giorgio were in their own conversation at this point, without being able to keep their hands off of each other. For the last ten minutes of our conversation, I felt myself being encapsulated by my thoughts that were almost yelling at me. The thoughts and questions wandered around in my head like a sandstorm that had no end. This is why I hate being emotionally invested into men, they play around and torture your brain into having them being the only thought in your mind. I was usually quite skilled in detaching my thoughts and feelings from one another. But this was beginning to become a struggle for me and I cant find a away to escape them.
"Hello?" Giovanna spoke up and snapped her fingers in my face. I was snapped out of my daydream of Luka having me all to himself. I started laughing and got embarrassed.
"Sorry, I was just thinking about something" I replied, getting shy and probably red in the face.
"Or thinking about someone?" Giorgio cheekily added. I chucked a pillow at him and laughed.
"Well I hope you are putting all that thought into what outfit you are going to wear tonight?" Giovanna said.
"What do you mean?" I replied, confused.
"Where were you girl, we are going back to the club" she replied. I moaned out of tiredness and sinked back into the couch, putting another pillow over my face. "Hurry up, no time to waste" she continued.
"Dont worry Leila, Luka will take care of you" Giorgio said.
"I dont need anyone to take care of me. Especially Luka" I replied.
"Ok Miss Independent" he replied, with Giovanna and I giggling after him.
"Red or black?" I ask Giovanna, showing her two dresses. She studies the outfits, imaging which one would look better.
"Red" she replied.
"Done" I reply. I put the dress back on the bed and walk over to the vanity, winging out my eyeliner and touching up my lip-gloss. I finally change into my outfit and slip on a pair of matching red stiletto's.
We hop out of the car and make our way into the club. I really don't want to see Luka, especially after the awkward encounter at the jail this morning. I still squirm at how that all went down and I really just hope that he doesn't remember it. I dont even know how he could tell it was me on the bike today.
Giorgio was behind the car serving drinks to everyone and getting Gi and I rounds of shots, totalling to about five each by now. And I am definitely not a heavy weight. The heat from the burning liquor travelled down my throat, making sure to leave its trace on my breath. Giovanna and I were definitely on the same level as each other - we made our way to the dance floor and were having the best time. I live for these nights - no care, no responsibility, just free of everything and everyone.
At this point, the drinks were starting to really get to me. I was drunk, but still in control. This was my perfect limit.
"Gi, are you going back to Giorgio's again tonight?" I asked, cheekily smiling. She started smiling back nervously.
"Only if thats okay with you. I already ditched you last night" she replied. I slapped her on the arm.
"I want you to go, you guys are the cutest together"
"Okay, only if you say so".
"Two more shots, please" Giovanna ordered from Giorgio. He winked at her.
"No no please, no more" I laughed and butted in.
"One more wont hurt" she replied to me. We both took the shot as Giorgio poured them up.
"Im just going to go to the bathroom" Gi said and left.
"So, where's your boyfriend" Giorgio asked. I laughed sarcastically and sipped on my Coke and Malibu that Giorgio just poured up. My favourite.
"Maybe he found another girl to torture" I replied.
"So you're jealous?"
"Please, not at all" I reply and walk over to the standing area, waiting for Gi to get back.
I was watching the crowd dance along to the beat of the music, having the tine of their lives.
"You just cant get enough of me, can you?" a voice snaps me out of my thoughts from behind me. I turn around and roll my eyes at Luka's cockiness.
"No actually, I can. I'm just here for my best friend" I replied. "So, on that note, bye" I say and attempt to walk off, before getting my arm pulled back, spinning me around.
He places his hand around my waist, making me look into his eyes, with his grip becoming firmer and firmer. You can just see how much I rile this man up, through his eyes. I scoffed and rolled my eyes, knowing how I can get under that cold and emotionless heart of his.
"Im going to say this once, Leila. Do not walk away when I am speaking to you. Do you understand?" He replies.
"And to what do I owe you for me to say yes?"
"You're right. But you will learn to do as I say, whether you like it or not"'
"Please..." I reply back bluntly.
"Oh, and this dress - make use of it now, because its not being worn again. At least without me".
"Don't piss me off Luka, you'll regret it" I warn him, knowing how short my temper is.
"Did I make you mad?" He asks, teasing me. I try wriggle out of his grip, but he holds onto me tighter and firmer. "Noting to say?" He continues.
"Just let me go" I say, winging. He laughs and let's me go.
"Relax, Leila" he says. I look at him dead in the face, visibly mad and leave to the bathroom to calm myself down. Why am I even getting mad? He means nothing to me.
I touched up my makeup in the bathroom, took a deep breath and came back out. I was trying to get service on my phone so I could call Giovanna but was not getting any luck. I knew that I wasn't going to get any service in the main area of the club, so I tried to find somewhere quiet where people wouldn't be using all of the service. As I was making my way to the back corner of the club, I see a staircase that leads down somewhere. It was dark and quiet, but I had to try my luck. I made my way down the staircase, as it ended up reaching a platform. I wasn't getting the best feeling from whatever this level was. It was dark and eery. I walked a few more steps when I saw a light coming through from somewhere. I forgot about trying to get service, instead I wanted to see what could be down here.
The closer I walked to the light, I started to hear light chatter. I couldn't make out what was being said, but it sounded like men speaking Italian to each other. The closer I got, I could see a tall wooden door that was left ajar. A man tied up on a chair, with tape around his mouth looked lifeless, with four men standing around him, speaking in Italian to each other. I hid behind the door, peaking from the side. I wanted to help the man. The more the men started speaking, Luka stepped in-front of the man, looking down at him with a deadly look. What the hell is he doing down here? It made me feel so uneasy, thinking about if he ever looked at me like that. Maybe I really should watch myself with him.
The conversation was getting heated with Luka and his men, before Luka pulled out a gun and aimed it at the mans head. I gasped, in fear of what may happen. My heart was racing and I could feel the anxiety kick in, that my knees began to fall weak.
He pulled the trigger, with three gun shots stick into the man's head. I almost felt my heart stop and I couldn't feel my body anymore. Realising what had just happened, my knees fell through and I passed out, falling down on the cold hard floor. The last thing I could see was Luka looking over and started to walk towards me.
