Leila:
I finally reached Giovanna's house. It was now sunrise, the birds were out, perked up on their branches and chirping away. I think I ran for about one and a half hours, trying to find my way back home. I knew Gi was going to be asleep, so I climbed up the French porch to her window, trying to make as little noise as possible. I had never felt more like an animal until today, climbing up and down two properties, rather than using the front door.
Lifting the window, I thought I would have come to a sight of Giovanna sleeping peacefully. Instead I think I had just walked in on Giovanna and Giorgio in an extremely, and I mean extremely intimate moment. I screamed out of shock, making them shoot their heads my way, as I ducked my head. They both started chuckling and covered themselves with the duvet.
"Leila?!" Gi spoke up.
"Yes?"
"Site is clear, Leila" Giorgio spoke up.
"Thank you" I replied, taking that as the go ahead to proceed with climbing through. Gi put on her robe and Giorgio covered himself with the duvet.
"Are you, like...okay?" Gi asked, remembering I had been missing for 24h hours. I nodded and took her into a hug.
"Im okay. I don't want to ruin your little rendezvous, proceed. Im needing a shower and a long sleep" I reply.
"Do you need anything? Food? Water? A tea?" She replied. I shook my head and gave her a smile, making my way to the shower.
I showered, washing away all the dirt that had accumulated while I was on the run. I let out a little cry in the shower, from the day that had passed. How did it come to this? Why am I so cursed with ending up in situations like this? I had always had faith in the higher energy and have always been extremely spiritually aligned. But it was in these moments, that I wondered why God kept putting me in these situations. Have I not been through enough? Haven't i had enough lessons?
I crawled into bed and drifted off into a deep sleep. An overdue beauty sleep.
"Lei, wake up its nearly 2pm" Giovanna stroked my hair while I rested on my left side.
"2pm? Fuck I slept for a while" I replied, sitting myself up in bed.
"What happened to you last night? Why didn't you call me?"
"Gi.. I think I'm getting into the depths with a mob king". She looked at me in shock. She started laughing, out of confusion. I couldn't help but laugh at the words coming out of my mouth.
"So, Leila... the next mob wife?"
"Or the one that got away. I ran away last night. I saw something I wasn't meant to see, Gi. And now I'm on the run" I reply.
"I dont know how long you two will be able to stay away from each other. No matter what you saw. You two are like magnets - you might not be able to see it yet, but anyone who looks your way knows that you guys are like... electricity"
"Okay, don't get poetic on me now Gi. He's not that special"
"We'll see" she raised her eyebrows and smiled. I giggled.
"Where's your mans?" I ask.
"He went home to get ready for work tonight. And... you're coming! He got us a VIP table at the club. Theres some Cuban rapper performing tonight. Should be fun" she states. I look at her confused.
"Luka's club? The man who I just ran away from? Did you not hear anything I just said? I just don't think thats a good idea. Plus I don't even know if he has even realised that I have even escaped. It looked like he actually respected my space while I locked myself in the bedroom"
