Decepticon Warship: Nemesis, somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean
7 AM, May 11th, 2021

Soulscream tilted her black helm up at Megatroid as they walked side by side toward the front of the warship and smiled.
"So it was you who was lurking about in the storm clouds earlier?" She asked, pausing to place a servo on her hip.

"What?" Megatroid stuttered and was completely dumbfounded as he halted and swiftly turned to look down back at her. "No."

"Mhm," Soulscream hummed as she nodded. "You just stated that you came back from recon. Which means that you were just outside in the storm."

"Well, yeah..." The dark grey mech stared at her in confusion for a moment. "I landed fifteen minutes ago."

Upon hearing that, Soulscream widened her optics and stared at his chassis with a blank expression of her own. "Huh... Guess it must've been a patrol then..."
When her counterpart refused to move out of the way, she waved him off. "I thought I saw something in the clouds earlier. It was probably just my paranoia."

A burst of nervous laughter crackled through the screen and brought a brief moment of life to the warship's cockpit.
The front of the Nemesis was built to be both a control room, navigation room, throne room, and view. The storm clouds had lessened to a light grey colour and a majority of the rain had eased off into a light fog now. Below them, the waves were still dark and hungrily lashing about as the ship passed over. Only Soundwave, Starscream, and Megatron stood in the room. Everyone else was either resting for the long journey or out on patrol.

Soundwave was standing over the controls, staring intently through the security feeds, and couldn't help himself but watch the two young Cybertronians. He had been fascinated with them ever since they came online and documenting their interactions had become more than a hobby. Despite Starscream's annoyance and Megatron's own intrigue - Soundwave was dedicated to see it fit that the future of the Decepticons was in good servos. He trusted Megatroid completely, even going as far as offering to train the young 'con himself here and there.

It was Soulscream whom he didn't trust.

As far as Starscream's other "children" went, Soundwave predicted that Soulscream was by far the most capable of becoming a threat. He'd been very aware of her tricks as well as the lengths she'd go through to sneak about the ship. He knew what she did - she flew in thunderstorms. Everyone except Starscream thought it was nothing more than a harmless exercise. Still, her tactics of lying, sneaking, and hiding evidence - they couldn't be ignored.

It might just be a flight here or there in the rain today, but tomorrow? A dagger in Megatron or Megatroid's back strut. Soundwave quietly kept to himself. He was very aware of the burning sensation in his own spine from where Starscream watched him in the shadows with absolute contempt. Whether because Soundwave was watching the kids, or because Soundwave knew that his eldest had snuck out without telling him yet again.

Soundwave had already had his servos full with keeping an eye on Arachnid and Starscream - he, for the life of him, could never understand why Megatron kept them so close to him, especially during important meetings such as now. And there was also that crazy scientist, Shockwave, that he was required to keep tabs on. It seemed like in every direction that he turned in, Soundwave was surrounded by traitors and deceivers. He couldn't blame himself for the hypothesis; Soulscream was Starscream's new version of himself. Being trained to be the future second-in-command and leader of the next generation of seeker fighters. So it was only natural for everyone to place that label on her, as well as Starsinger, Skylight, and Sonic Boom, too. As far as Soundwave was concerned, those three weren't much of a threat. Unlike Soulscream, their smiles and greets were genuine. They had their own secrets and games that he was well aware of as well, though he had realised that in their nature - Sonic Boom was more like Thundercacker and Starsinger and Skylight more akin to Skywarp. If anything, Soundwave hoped with half a spark that the other two seekers of the Questor Trine would just take them. Whether out of Starscream's reach or influence, he did not care.
