"What do you think they have in store for us?" First Aid turned his helm to timidly glance over at his training partner-in-crime, Flare-Up.

The orange and red she-bot halted for a moment, turned her helm in the younger 'bot's direction and narrowed her blue optics in thought. "I heard somethin' about a... An 'initiation ritual'... If that makes any kinda sense to a high grid 'bot like yourself?"

"Oh," First Aid stared at the soft, grassy ground as they walked. "Y-yeah, I know what those are..." He trailed off, now filled with some worry.

"Ah, don't get your gears in a twist, F." Flare-Up smiled at him as she placed her upper servos on her hips. "I won't let them bully ya!"

First Aid paused for a moment as he lifted his helm to catch the starry night sky overhead before he turned and gave a thumbs-up to his partner. "Thanks, Flare."

First Aid had lost a large part of his team not too long ago and since being kicked out of Concur by Inferno, the Wreckers had decided to take him in as their reserve medical officer. Their field and current chief officer was Flare-Up, though through no volunteering of her own. Her reckless actions had caused great harm to some of the team during their adventures together. Instead of letting Ultra Magnus kick her out, Firestar and Chromia had vouched that if Flare-Up passed the new medical officer tests, she would be almost invaluable to the team. And maybe she would learn something about life and the necessary precautions to preserve it in future encounters.

Pairing First Aid and Flare-Up together for their training wasn't exactly a typically safe choice, yet Optimus Prime had greenlit the request after Ratchet had confided his worries to the Prime. As far as First Aid saw it, he was meant to be teaching Flare-Up to slow down and "smell the roses". And she was supposed to teach him how to be a little more braver and free-thinking of his own will. He couldn't yet tell what exactly Flare-Up's intentions were regarding him or the overall training course, but he had to put his trust in her somehow and only hoped that she wasn't as rude to him as the rumours stated she would be.

The next six months were going to either be very fun or very slow for the both of them.

When they had gotten settled in at Concur, Sari Sumdac had shown up suddenly with her partner, Miko Nakadai - babbling on about something called a 'birthday' and soon after, an initiation ritual. Flare-Up couldn't quite care too much about it overall but if it beat staying in their shared cabin and having something to do then she was all for it. First Aid on the other servo seemed quite happy to gain the opportunity to make new friends and had bugged Flare-Up with a million questions until they reached the dark woods surrounding the entire mountain and valley. Flare-Up couldn't deny that the sparse and seemingly endless, unpredictable organic life all around them was a little off-putting, however, she laid her fears to rest by putting First Aid at the forefront of her processor. The kid was on his own out here and as far as she was currently concerned, he had almost no fighting or military background. Despite this, he was a respected and known medic among his peers and highly recommended by both Red Alert and Ratchet, so she of course, naturally respected him and his talents.

The two walked in silence for several moments before First Aid lifted his helm and paused. "Listen!" He said and waved a servo at Flare-Up.

She halted, narrowing her optics as she did so. Sure enough, they could hear the smooth babbling of a brook nearby. "Let's head in that direction," Flare-Up ordered, though she had merely just wanted to suggest it. "Sari said something about a clearing and a campfire near a brook... Whatever a campfire is..."
