Bioware, those silly gooses still own Dragon Age. I own Aurthur and Athelya, though my precious! Notes at the end.

___________________________________________A blinding light filled my vision, and then a haunting unforgettable roar filled my ears when I finally saw something it was a monster. It had thick jagged oil colored scales, horrid white eyes, and jagged long teeth with horns as long as I was tall, then it flared its reptilian wings, and I lurched forward but fell back almost immediately.
I took in my surroundings for a moment.
It was night, something was moving nearby... no, not something, someone.
Alistair. I tried to speak, but my throat barely let out a whisper. But he must have heard me. "Duncan, she's awake!"They both moved into my field of vision before Duncan spoke. "It is finished. Welcome, sister." They helped lift me to a sitting position after a moment, Alistair spoke.
"Two more deaths. In my joining, only one of us died, but it was... horrible."
He sighed and then continued. "I'm glad two of you made it through."Only two of us survived? Who's dead? I didn't like Daveth, but he had the right mindset to be a warden.
Or was it Ser Jory? I wouldn't wish a dead parent on anyone.
Is Aurthur still alive? He saved my life before and has been with me every step since being recruited. Come to think of it, I never did ask him about himself. If he's still alive, I should change that.
Speculation gives no answers. I must see for myself.I looked around again, and this time, I found someone lying down on a bedroll beginning to stir.
"Fucking Makers balls!" Aurthur exclaimed sounding blocked almost clogged. Quickly, Duncan and Alistair rushed over to him and helped him sit up on his bedroll.Thank the creators! Huh, I didn't know I could get worried about a shem... no, not a 'shem' a person like me. I am disappointed in myself. I let prejudice guide me,
Fenharel ma ghilana.I walked over to where Aurthur was sitting and sat an arms length away.
"How do you two feel?" Duncan asked, looking between us. "Like shit." Aurthur deadpanned. "Better than before." I answered. It wasn't a lie, thankfully. I can still feel the taint, but it's receding almost like vomit that you choked back down."Did you have dreams? I had terrible dreams or visions after my joining." Alistair asked. "Such dreams come when you begin to sense the darkspawn, as we all do. That and many other things can be explained in the months to come." Duncan explained. I wonder what the other changes are?
"Before I forget, we make a pendant with the blood of those who didn't survive the joining, something to remind us... of those who didn't make it so far." Alistair spoke, handing me and Aurthur a silverite pendant with a small vial of blood held in the center.
Duncan helped me and Aurthur off the ground and spoke.
"Take some time. When you are ready, go speak to the blacksmith for your new gear. When you're done, I'd like both of you to accompany me to meet the king." Duncan finished stepping back a bit.I should probably apologize to the king. I forget that I'm most shemlans' first impression of a dalish. "Ma nuvinen, hahren." He looked confused for a moment, then spoke. "What does that mean? I've heard city elves call their leaders that, but your clan had multiple." I should explain so he doesn't get the wrong idea, although he is close.
"Hahren is what we call our elders, teachers, and people who have masterd certain skills." I explained. He looked thoughtful for a moment, then spoke. "Thank you, I'm glad you think me wise enough to wear the title."
After a moment, he left but not before giving us directions to the meeting place.
When he was out of earshot, Aurthur leaned in close and whispered. "Somebody's a kiss ass." I lightly punched him in the shoulder as retaliation. He put his hands up, surrendering, then spoke. "All right, all right, not a kiss ass. That spot is reserved for Alistair. Now, let's go see that asshole of a blacksmith."
