It was another relaxed evening in the hotel lounge, the Indian cricket team enjoying some downtime after a long practice session. Rohit, as usual, was surrounded by the younger players—Shubman, Ishan, and a few others. They were laughing, chatting about the day’s practice, and sharing stories. It was a common sight, but for Hardik, who was sitting on the other side of the room, it felt like a dagger to the heart.

He clenched his jaw, watching as Rohit leaned in close to hear what Ishan was saying, a broad smile lighting up his face. There it was again—that tug of jealousy he couldn’t quite control whenever Rohit’s attention wasn’t on him. Hardik had always been the fun-loving, carefree guy, but when it came to Rohit, things were different. He couldn’t help but feel possessive, even if he hadn’t yet admitted why.

For months, Hardik had been harboring a secret crush on Rohit. It wasn’t something he’d ever voiced, not even to himself fully. But every time he saw Rohit laugh with someone else, every time Rohit ruffled one of the younger boys' hair or shared a private joke with them, Hardik’s heart twisted in a way that was impossible to ignore.

Tonight was no different. Hardik’s eyes were glued to Rohit, his mind racing with unspoken feelings. He was trying to keep it together, but when he saw Shubman place a friendly hand on Rohit’s shoulder, laughing about something, Hardik snapped.

He stood abruptly, ignoring the curious looks from the others as he stormed out of the lounge, heading straight for his room. He couldn’t sit there and watch anymore. The jealousy was eating him alive.

A few minutes later, Rohit noticed Hardik was gone. He furrowed his brow, wondering where his friend had disappeared to. Excusing himself from the group, he followed the path he knew Hardik would have taken.

When Rohit reached Hardik’s room, he knocked lightly. “Hardik? Tu theek hai?” he asked, his voice gentle but laced with concern.

[Hardik? Are you fine? ]

There was a moment of silence before Hardik opened the door. His face was tense, his usual playful demeanor replaced with something more serious. Rohit stepped in without waiting for an invitation, sensing that something was off.

“Yaar, kya hua? Tum theek lag nahi rahe ho,” Rohit said softly, closing the door behind him.

[Man, what happened? You're not looking fine.]

Hardik ran a hand through his hair, frustrated with himself. He paced for a moment before finally blurting out, "Rohit, why are you always with them? With the younger guys?"

Rohit blinked, surprised by the question. "Kya? Arre, yaar, they're the new boys. I like spending time with them, making them feel comfortable. Tumhe pata hai na, captain ka kaam hota hai…"

[What? Oh, man. You know na, it's part of my job as a captain]

But Hardik shook his head, his emotions bubbling to the surface. "It's not about that, Rohit. I... I don't like it."

Rohit stepped closer, his voice softening. "Kya matlab? Kyu? Kya problem hai?"

[What do you mean? Why? What is the problem?]

Hardik stopped pacing and looked at him, his eyes betraying the feelings he’d kept hidden for so long. "Because... I get jealous, okay? I hate seeing you with them all the time. I want you to spend time with me. Just me."

Rohit’s eyes widened slightly, the realization hitting him. "Jealous? Hardik, tum…"

[Jealous? Hardik, you...]
