{Across The Cosmos: The Solar System}

{Chapter 13: The Epilogue}

Now, with Sombra's terror finally leaving everyone's heads, it was a lot more peaceful around the Solar System. Despite the wounds, fear, and mind control, it seemed like the battle was forgotten about as abruptly as it had started.

"Nori, my wounds already healed a bit ago!" Andromeda giggled as Nori was adjusting her bandages for the fourth time already.

Nori smiled wholeheartedly. "One can never be too certain, Andromeda."

It had been learnt that in addition to having heightened pain tolerance, Andromeda also recovered very rapidly, taking only a few hours to heal after her arm was impaled. As Nori finished adjusting her bandages, Andromeda teleported off to Saturn, noticing Hyperion and Skylette talking about something.

Hyperion sounded unsure. "Are you sure she would want to be our daughter, Skylette? How would she feel about having two fathers?"

Skylette chuckled as he looked towards Andromeda. "I guess we can just ask her ourselves since she's already here."

Andromeda had read their minds upon instinct. "You guys want to adopt me?! Like..like be my parents? Really?"

Skylette and Hyperion shared amused chuckles at Andromeda's excitement, nodding their heads. Andromeda teleported closer to them and gave them both a hug, the embrace making the trio mutually laugh together.

"By the way, Andromeda," Skylette said as he pulled out a note from his pocket. "Take this. Iris wanted to meet you somewhere."

Andromeda opened the note and read it for a moment, soon smiling and blushing a bit afterwards. Skylette smirked as Hyperion realized why Iris wanted to, also smiling to himself.

Somewhere afar, Oxide had been comforting Onyx since the whole war, making sure she was content after what happened.

"You feeling better now, Onyx? Do you need anything else?" Oxide said, holding a pile of pillows in his hands.

Onyx's voice was barely coherent as she was already stuffed in a pile of emotional support pillows. "Yes, Oxide, I'm alright. This is very comfortable.."

Dawn had flown over to check on the duo, looking confused, yet understanding at the same time.

Dawn looked towards Oxide and chuckled. "Jeez, Oxi, you didn't need to literally engulf her in pillows!"

Oxide smiled and laughed it off with her. "I know, I know, but they seemed to cheer her up so I thought she deserved more of them."

Dawn and Oxide paused as they heard Onyx starting to drift off to sleep, smiling towards each other as they went off back to their duties.

With Andromeda, Iris had wanted her to teleport to a specific part of the Solar System, somewhere they could both be alone and stargaze in peace. As she approached however, she noticed that Iris was speaking with Minerva, before the two noticed Andromeda and waved her over.

"Andromeda, you're just in time!" Minerva cheerfully said as she held a gift box that resembled the Aurora Borealis in her bandaged hands. "I was going to drop this off during you and Iris's little get-together."

Andromeda smiled as she got closer and took the gift box from Minerva. Iris had looked towards Minerva and gave her a thumbs up, as Minerva nodded and flew off.

Iris then gestured for Andromeda to follow her, leading her towards Jupiter and sat on top of it. Andromeda looked uncertain of her doing so, and was about to take a breath to speak.

"Don't worry, it doesn't harm the planet when I do this." Iris said, patting the side of it.

Andromeda smiled and took a seat next to her as the two started to stargaze together, talking about some of the constellations they previously saw before. But then Andromeda remembered what Iris' note was about.

Andromeda put her hand on Iris's shoulder to get her attention. "Iris? Your note said you wanted to meet me here and all..I didn't know it was just to ask me to stargaze with you?"

Iris blushed and looked away. "That's not..the only reason I wanted to be with you alone, Andromeda."

Andromeda also started to blush, rubbing her arm nervously. Iris then put her hand up to Andromeda's cheek and turned her face to look directly into her eyes.

"Andromeda..I know I've only known you for a bit, and we just lived through a whole battle together, but I kinda respect you with every fabric of my being."

Andromeda seemed flattered, yet confused. "Thank you?"

"Look..I think you're really cute, and open-minded, and I just..do you want to maybe..you know, start going out? You and me?"

Andromeda's face when she realized Iris was asking her out filled with a soft, ivory white as she covered her face. After a moment, Andromeda quietly nodded her head, and Iris sighed out of relief.

"Thank Callisto..I was worried you were gonna think I was weird for liking you this much already."

"I-I was worried you thought I was weird! I thought you were..really pretty and cool when we first met." Andromeda replied, awkwardly rubbing her arm and looking away as well.

As the girls finally got the courage to look each other in the eyes again, Iris offered her hand out to Andromeda, and they began to hold hands. What lied in their future was not anything of worry as they took a moment to appreciate each other's company.

With all of the guardians growing more and more closer every passing moment, the Solar System maintained a stable environment, with Andromeda occasionally visiting Sombra every once in a while.

Whatever happened next, whether it was in the Solar System, the Milky Way, or anywhere else, the guardians knew that they would have each other's backs no matter what. Andromeda kept training to use her abilities the best she could with Hyperion and Skylette watched over her, she started growing closer and closer with Iris, and started to become close friends with Minerva.

Andromeda had shown the Solar System that blackhole guardians weren't always the same. But would she be able to prove that to the entire Milky Way?
