Squirrelflight watched her kits affectionately as Icekit leaped on top of Lightkit. "Careful, kits," She called gently as Stonekit joined the fight.
"We're careful, don't worry, Mama!" Icekit called, giving Lightkit just enough time to wiggle free and pin her sister down.
Paw steps sounded at the den entrance, and happiness soared inside Squirrelflight as her mate, Ashstar, padded in, his light blue eyes kind and loving. Another warm scent flooded the den with Ashstar, and he dropped a plump rabbit in front of Squirrelflight before rubbing muzzles with her, purring softly. Squirrelflight let his familiar scent drown out all other scents and noises. "Thank you," She whispered, letting the kits take the first few bites and then digging in herself.
"Dad!" Lightkit exclaimed, leaping on Ashstar. "Did you see that jump? Did you? Lionblaze taught me!" She boasted, her blue eyes lighting up with pride.
Ashstar smiled, and huffed. "Either you're strong, or I'm just old," He meowed, purring in amusement.
"I bet I can leap higher!" Stonekit exclaimed, jumping up to join his sister. Icekit followed, and Squirrelflight laughed. "Now, kits, give your father some room," She scolded, though her eyes were full of affection.
"Fine," Icekit meowed, scrambling down. Her littermates followed, and suddenly Ashstar stiffened. Worry shone in his ice-blue eyes as his jaws parted to taste the air.
"Ashstar?" Squirrelflight meowed, fear surging through her. "What's wrong?"
"ShadowClan," Ashstar whispered.
A/N (Author's Note): I know this part was short, I kinda just ran out of ideas. The next one will also probably be pretty short, and the last one from Ashstar and Squirrelflight's perspective. If you didn't realize already, Ashfur is now Ashstar!
