I don't think I've ever cried in front of Grace the way I did when I left- well I didn't sob a couple of tears fell down my face. I mean she's seen me upset but she's never seen me cry, I think the only time she has seen me upset was when I've lost a game or let my team down.
When everyone kept asking her if she was excited for me or proud when we were in Michigan, she looked upset which I obviously understand cause I'm not with her anymore and I knew she was proud of me cause she told me multiple times and showed me that she was proud of me. Just sometimes I got a feeling that she wasn't proud or happy.
I kept a good look on my face when I saw that she was upset, I kept trying my best to make that summer a great summer for her and also myself that's why I took her away for a week so I could spend time with her alone.
I did get to spend time with her in Michigan but sometimes my brother's or their friends pulled me away from her to hang out with me.
I obviously wanted to spend time with all of my friends as well and mostly Quinn cause I do feel bad for him that me and Jack are playing for the same team while he is on his own in Vancouver. I'm also used to be spending time with my friends all day whether its in class, training, hanging out at the soph house or just being at parties with them.
All I know is that Grace is proud but sometimes I don't get that feeling.
"Do you want to go out tonight?" Jack comes up to me "all the guys are going to the club before the season starts and I also want to introduce you properly" I've already met Nico since he picked me and Jack up from the airport, and I've spoke to some of the other guys just not properly yet.
"Yeah sure" I nod my head looking behind me as he stands behind the sofa that I'm sitting on.
"Alright, good" Jack takes his phone out of his pocket "be ready by seven".
"Yeah I will" I say nodding my head again. I'm not even old enough to drink yet but I think Jack will let me have a couple since I had some in the summer, knowing Jack he will probably get drunk or have a couple of beers like he usually does when there is a party.
"Luke" Jack says.
"Yeah" I look at him.
"Grace will be fine" he tells me "just don't do anything stupid" obviously not.
"Yeah I know she will I just worry sometimes" I tell him.
"Yeah and that's reasonable" he says "but all of your friend will watch out for her, even when you where still in Michigan they had her back" "I know them guys and they are good people so they will have her back and they will keep their word about looking after her" he sits down next to me.
"Yeah I know" I run my hand through my hair.
"Maybe in two years time she'll be in New York in that theatre thing she always talks ab-"
I cut him off. "Broadway. Yeah she wants that real badly".
