BROOKLYN
We were two hours away from Canada when Dylan had an idea. It was stupidly risky and could easily compromise our location- after all, time was of the essence if we were going to catch our flights and avoid police as well, but everyone wanted to stop, aside from me and Daniel.
We rushed around op shops, trying to find something nice for all of us. My dress wasn't white but grey, and Daniel was only wearing jeans and a shirt, but it was enough for us. The others found some clothes to wear, and the celebrations were set.
Mikayla did my hair into a braid, although I insisted that was a waste of time. Secretly though, I enjoyed it.
We found an old and abandoned church. It was covered in dust and almost looked haunted, with the tall ceilings and large velvet drapes, but was better than a dirty alleyway that probably reeked of smoke and rotting food.
Dylan awkwardly went through some vows, and Daniel gave me the wedding ring that had been sitting in our suitcases for the past four years.
We kissed, and it was the best moment of my life. I don't know how to describe it, but a million happy emotion flooded me.
Once the official part was over, we got changed again and headed back on the road, celebratory McDonalds in hand.
The whole car ride, I kept glancing at my two rings- my engagement one, and now my wedding ring.
We could probably get official paperwork done in Australia, but for now, this was enough.
