a/n: this is a shorter chapter, but I just had to get it out to progress instead of sitting on it! sorry, hope you like it. x
He'd bruised her.Across her jaw were small, fingerprint bruises from where he grabbed her face. Where he squeezed her, forced her to look him in the eye and then called her a bastard.
Alysanne left promptly after Aegon did. She didn't stick around to watch him grow angrier with time and wine. Sunfyre lay sleeping at the river bank surrounding Starfall, and Cyrene prepared to fly at any moment.
Alysanne heaved her rucksack up Cyrene with her, the dragon holding her wing still to aid her rider.
Alysanne flew straight home to Dragonstone. She didn't know what to do. Her hopes about the tour had been ruined.
As she spotted Dragonstone, she could hear other dragons calling to her arrival. The only one she was able to pick out was Caraxes high pitched call. The sun was starting to set upon the island, and the air was significantly colder here. She sent Cyrene into the Dragonmont, where she was met by her father.
"What is it, Alysanne?" Daemon asked, hand balanced on the pommel of Dark Sister.
"Where is mother?"
"With the children."
Alysanne brushed past Daemon, heading to the nursery her baby brothers resided in. It seemed like her mother slept in there more and more these days, refusing to part with her nursing baby.
Daemon followed after her quickly. The two of them walked in a similar manner, their long legs carrying them in fast paces.
"Princess!" Elinda called, standing next to her mother.
"Hello, Elinda." She said with a smile. "Could you give me a moment with my mother?"
Rhaenyra turned and looked at Alysanne in shock. She stood above small Viserys' cradle. Elinda nodded immediately, bowing slightly to Rhaenyra and leaving the room.
"Are you alright?" Her mother cried, rushing to her. She inspected her head to toe, hands brushing against her face.
"I am fine." She swatted her mothers hands away. "Aegon was at the Dayne's."
"Aegon?" Daemon laughed. "What a pathetic choice."
"He was like a shadow." She ground her teeth in irritation. "This was a horrible start to the tour."
"And yet you will persist." Her mother sat next to her on the chaise, holding Alysanne's hands in her own. "This may be a plot from the Queen to turn you off touring."
"Mm." Daemon agreed. "Surprised they didn't send the one missing an eye." He smiled to himself.
"Aegon said that Alicent was afraid Aemond would murder me." Alysanne repeated what her uncle had said. "He made me seem so rude."
