**Sue's POV**
I'm busy with my job right now, working the night shift. I got a job two months after graduation, and now I’m a call center agent.
I’ve been with the company for six months, working hard and doing my best. I’m already aiming for a promotion, even though it's a bit early. I want to become a team leader and then eventually a support call agent. I’m also interested in working with the HR department. I want to try different things. After all, I’m only 22, still young to have a permanent job.
My plan is to explore different fields, but before that, I want to experience various positions in my current company. After that, I plan to resign and find another job. I’m also open to going abroad and working there for at least a year.
But I didn’t expect to see Denver in my team. That jerk!
Well, I don’t blame him for everything, but he's partially responsible too.
He’s a playboy!
"Let’s take a picture after the shift, guys!" said our Team Leader (TL).
"Whoa, a new recruit!" said Meriam.
"Good luck to us, guys! Let’s make it to the top!" Vince added.
Meanwhile, Vince, Katelyn, and I stayed quiet. I raised an eyebrow when Denver’s gaze landed on me.
-----------------------------
"One more shot," TL said for the tenth time to the guard, who looked incredibly bored from taking a million pictures of us.Finally, it was over. I silently thanked the heavens when TL meant it this time—just one more shot!
"Sue," Denver called out to me.
I just raised an eyebrow at him. What nerve.
"Hey, what’s your problem? What did I do? Did I offend you?" he asked, bombarding me with questions.
I got even more annoyed by his act of innocence.
"Seriously. What the hell, Denver?!" I said angrily.
Luckily, we were already outside the building, waiting for a ride. It was 5 a.m., and there were quite a few people around.
"Why are you treating me like this? How heartless can you be? I’m just trying to connect with you," he said.
Thank goodness JM and I broke up six months ago. Otherwise, I’d probably end up as gossip fodder inside the company.
Yeah, I won’t lie—I’m more conscious of what others might say now, unlike before.
Instead of responding, I glanced around, looking for anyone from the company, afraid of getting caught up in another round of gossip.
Is it my fault men keep approaching me? I’m not even approachable. If anything, I’m known to be grumpy.
I was about to walk away when Denver grabbed my arm and pulled me into a 24/7 coffee shop near the terminal.
A waiter came over immediately, and Denver placed an order.
I just stared at him in disbelief.
The nerve!
"What is it? Why are you doing this?" he asked directly, his tone more demanding than questioning.
"Wow," I couldn’t help but say.
Clap, clap, clap.
"You’re such a great actor!"
"What?" he asked, his brows furrowed.
"You played with me and Reina. Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m talking about," I snapped.
"Don’t play dumb!" I added.
"Reina is just my childhood friend," he began explaining. "Our parents want us to get married, but I never courted her. We agreed to just stay friends."
"Don’t fool me!" I shouted angrily.
Why am I even here? I should just leave.
Before the order even arrived, I walked out. After all, it wasn’t my order.

**Azhle's POV**
"Guess what?" Sue suddenly messaged me.
It’s 7 a.m., but it looks like I’m about to catch some gossip.
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"Is someone courting you?"
"Are you going abroad?"
"Transferring to another company?"
"Comeback? Will you treat me to tickets? Yieeh!"
"XXXXXXX" Sue replied.
"??????"
"It’s Denver. He’s on my team. He said he never played with Reina or me. What do you think?"
"IDK."
"I can’t ask Reina about that. I can’t reach Neressa either. Lexie and Meribel surely don’t know about it."
"Just ask him or ask Reina," I suggested.
"I don’t want to."
"Then don’t," I replied.
"Hey, your company is hiring, right? Can you refer me?" I asked.
"K," was her short response.
---
**Sue's POV**
I hate that I’m even thinking about asking Reina about Denver. I don’t want to, but it bothers me. What if I’ve been mean to him for no reason, and he hasn’t done anything wrong to me or Reina?
"Reina, is it true that Denver never courted you?" I messaged her.
She was online but suddenly logged out.
I didn’t expect much, but I still tried.
I don’t like letting my personal life affect my professional life. I don’t want to be unprofessional.
I don’t want to talk to Denver. I don’t want to be near any man.
---
**Reina's POV**
Sue messaged me, and I logged out. I didn’t want to talk to her.
Suddenly, my phone vibrated, signaling a call.
It’s Denver!
"Hello," I answered.
"Let’s meet," he said bluntly.
"Sure, where?"
"I’ll text you the details," he replied before ending the call.
---
He booked a VIP reservation at a restaurant. How sweet!
"Hi," I greeted Denver with a smile as I sat down.
Is he asking me out? I thought, excited.
He just stared at me, and he looked... angry?
"Why?" I asked.
"We’re nothing," he said coldly.
"I’m ending our friendship. Enjoy your meal and goodbye," he added before walking away.
I couldn’t hold back my tears.
I was so embarrassed!
I called Neressa.
"Risaa," I sobbed into the phone.
"Where are you?" she asked.
I just cried.
Ten minutes later, Neressa arrived.
I told her everything, that Denver and I were in a bad place.
"I guess he already found out," Neressa said.
"I know," I replied.
