It was one cold night in Bratislava, I used my jacket to keep myself warm before singing on a stage.
I work as a singer in one of the alley-clubs. My co-worker, Andy was right beside me while I was preparing for my next song while the people were dancing smoothly and the pole dancers took their break.
"Come on, Bevila! You got this, It's just one song" Andy said to me as I was nervously laughing.
Then I started walking towards the stage without people noticing me, they were chattering about some things they could handle in life.
Then that's where I started my song, I was shivering a little but I'm still standing.
I started tapping the mic to test it, well it seems to work pretty well. Then there, I started singing the lyrics I composed last night. The audience felt silent as all their eyes were staring at me, yes I was nervous at the same time but I kept on singing.
I sang smoothly like my life depended on it, it felt so good to sing again. While the background music supported my voice, the audience started whispering and chattering.
Now that I caught up everybody's attention I proceeded to the next line of the song, continously.
Everyone's applause can be heard across the club while Andy was clapping her hands proudly before turning off the music in her laptop.
My guts told me to quickly run to the backstage and to the backdoor, so I did what my guts have told me.
I grabbed my cellphone from my pocket and called my sister Terissa.
"Hello?" She answered while I heard sizzling noises on the other side of the call.
"Hey sis! Are ya cooking Bryndzové halušky again?" I said with a happy tone hiding my shy voice after my performance.
"Yeah, our little brother likes it!" She giggles happily as if Maico started speaking his first words.
"Yeah I really hope someday he calls out my name like' Heyyy sissy Bevi' " I sighed and leaned across the wall "So anyways, I earned 92 euros today from my tip box" but somehow I lied, I only earned about 40 euros.
I heard Terissa gasping happily "really? That's great! Now we have enough money to pay the electrical bills, cuz you know some things aren't really working out over here..." She gulped as I heard her turn off the stove for a minute to get a moment to talk with me on the phone seriously.
But suddenly, Andy calls out for me saying that I should do another performance.
I shockingly turned back to Andy "they wanted to hear more of my songs?" I ended the call between me and Terissa while Andy was cheering for me to get my arse back on stage with a marveled look.
But I decided to chuckle and tell Andy to give me like 8 minutes here in this alley, Andy just sighed then got back inside. I was alone and minding my own business when suddenly I heard a voice behind me "Quite the performance you did there"
I flinched as I turned around to see a man with wavy hair, blue eyes and a smile like he's the devil whose going to make a deal with me.
"Thank you, I guess? You must be one of the V.I.P'S?" I asked while looking at his sense of fashion, looking decent at a night like this.
"Unfortunely not, I'm new to this place" he chuckled and leaned on the wall while smoking. I sighed and walk back inside the club when suddenly he whispered "It's quite rude to leave a conversation like that, right?" He stares at me with his blue eyes and he was smirking.
My eye twitched as I thought to myself that this guy is more irritating than my best friend Andy.
(Ohohoho....interesting part, ain't it?)
