Episode 1: Batten Down the Hatches
The Atlantic Ocean
The sun had just set on the Atlantic. The ocean was dark, and the waves were for the most part calm.
A large cargo ship moved through the water with grace. The cargo however was not ordinary cargo. Multiple dinosaurs were roaring and banging on the crates holding them.
In the middle of the deck, Chaos the Baryonyx was roaming his crate. Below him however, three people were sitting in the crate.
They had set up four hammocks during the year they'd spent in this crate.
Ben Pincus felt a drop of water caused by the Baryonyx above causing him to groan in frustration.
Darius Bowman sighed in annoyance as the roof kept shaking while Sammy Gutierrez was staring at a lamp she set up on a box in the middle of the crate.
"Okay, what looks better?" Sammy asked, moving the lamp to the left. "Here?"
She moved it to the right.
"Or here?" She asked.
"I... uh...." Ben started when suddenly the boat rocked to the left causing them all to stumble off balance and move the lamp to the left.
"Well, the boat thinks it should go there." Darius said with a light chuckle causing Sammy to smile.
Suddenly, the dinosaur above them started stomping around causing more water to fall on Ben. He groaned.
"This Gallimimus is getting on my nerves!" Ben yelled annoyed.
"Third floors not Gallimimus. That's the first floor. Downstairs." Darius corrected
"Then what's upstairs?" Ben asked causing Darius to grab a water bottle and throw it at the roof. They heard a roar that they recognized.
"Baryonyx!" Everyone yelled.
Sammy chuckled and looked out the window to see Kenji staring off the side of the boat holding lettuce in his hands. She frowned as he threw the lettuce into the water.
"So... once we get to this ship's permanent destination, what are the chances we run into this Broker person Cabrera mentioned?" Ben asked gaining Sammy's attention.
"I don't know... better than if we stayed home with Patrick and Yaz." Darius answered. "I'm glad they get some peace and quiet for once."
Ben crossed his arms.
"Yeah... good for them." Ben whispered.
"I just wished we knew why this Broker person went after Brooklyn and Mia in the first place." Sammy said. "and how they managed to use Kara to kill M..."
Sammy stopped herself realizing her mistake. Ben looked down sadly.
"Maybe there's something on Dark Jurassic." Ben suggested halfhearted before turning to Darius. "Do you have Brooklyn's phone?"
Darius nodded and pulled it out of his pocket.
"It doesn't have much battery left. We should save it." Darius explained, causing Ben to nod.
Suddenly, the crate opened, and Kenji entered.
"There you are." Ben said smiling.
