XXX. "She-she is our target."

Third Person

The influential and impressive palace came into sight as a car rolled through the heavy metal gates, screeching to a stop right in front of the humongous stairs leading them to the front patio, where an old man and woman stood, dressed immaculately in traditional outfits befitting a Royalty.

A man in his mid-thirties stepped out from the car, jogging round it to help his wife out of the expensive-looking vehicle. He pulled open the door, extending his hand forward for his spouse to hold. A delicate, fair hand grabbed his own, stepping her heel cladded feet onto the stone floor.

The older couple stepped down the stairs to welcome the couple who had just arrived at their humble abode.

"How are you, my sweet son? I missed you terribly." The old woman gently grabbed her son's face, embracing him in her warm and gentle cocoon.

"I have been wonderful, Mother. How have you been?" He hugged his mother back, grateful to receive a semblance of motherly warmth.

"Oh, this old woman has been just fine without anyone to keep her company. How are you, Rashmika? Is my son keeping you well?" She turned her attention to her daughter-in-law, hugging her gently as well.

"I've been wonderful, Mother, and Akhilesh has been treating me well." Rashmika said with a light laugh.

"Oh, that's a relief. Where are my grandsons?"

"They must be coming in a few minutes. Are Raghuveer and Mahika here yet?" Rashmika conversed with her mother-in-law in a soft voice while they trudged up the stairs and into the luxurious living room of the Rajmahal in Ajmer.

"No! They would take a few hours more, I guess. I am worried about Mahika, to be honest. That woman got an asshole of a husband, and she couldn't do anything about it." The old woman sat back on the dark blue couch with a huff, worry clouding her black eyes.

"I don't know how Mahika is living with that jerk we call our son." The old man joined in, expressing his views about his son as well.
