It was one of those lazy weekend mornings when the world outside seemed to move slower than usual. The sun filtered through the curtains, casting a warm glow on the room as you sat on the balcony with a cup of tea, enjoying the peaceful quiet. Mert, on the other hand, was still inside, tinkering with something—you couldn’t keep track of how many little projects he had going on.

Eventually, you heard the sound of Mert’s footsteps coming toward you. He appeared at the balcony door, smiling that familiar goofy smile of his, holding a small, homemade gadget in his hands.

“Look what I just made!” he said excitedly, holding the device up proudly.

You grinned, always amused by his enthusiasm. “Another invention, Mert? What is it this time?”

“It’s a noise amplifier! Now when you’re out here reading or relaxing, you can hear every bird chirp, every little sound from far away, like a superpower!” he explained, eyes shining with excitement.

You couldn’t help but smile at how sweet his intention was. “You made that for me?”

“Well… yeah,” he said, a little bashfully now. “I noticed how much you like sitting out here, so I thought it might make your mornings even better.”

Your heart warmed at the gesture, and you stood up to close the distance between you. “You’re really sweet, you know that?”

Mert chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “Yeah, well, it’s nothing big…”

You placed your hand gently on his cheek and leaned in, giving him a soft kiss. Mert immediately blushed, surprised but clearly pleased. You pulled back slightly, looking into his eyes with a smile.

“Thank you,” you whispered. “It’s perfect.”

Mert’s blush deepened, and he tried to play it cool. “Uh, yeah… no problem. I’m glad you like it.”

You giggled at his flustered expression, leaning in again to give him another kiss, this time lingering a little longer. Mert’s hands came up to rest on your waist, pulling you closer as he returned the kiss with a shy smile on his lips.

When you pulled away, you noticed the way his eyes sparkled, and you couldn’t resist teasing him a little. “You’re cute when you get all embarrassed.”

Mert let out a soft laugh, shaking his head. “Me? Embarrassed? Nah, I’m just—" He stopped mid-sentence as you leaned in and kissed him again, making him lose his train of thought entirely. This time, he didn’t try to hide how much he liked it.

“I can’t compete with you when you do that,” he muttered, smiling sheepishly as he pulled you into a hug.

You nestled your head against his chest, feeling his heartbeat quicken slightly. “You don’t have to compete,” you said softly, “Just stay here with me.”

Mert pressed his lips against the top of your head, holding you tighter. “Always.”

The two of you stood there for a while, wrapped up in each other’s warmth, with the morning sun gently illuminating the quiet world around you. Mert’s little invention sat forgotten on the table as the two of you shared quiet moments and tender kisses, content in each other’s presence.
