Liana
I was sweeping the kitchen when a turmoil broke out in the house. Several people came running down the stairs and out of the door, where they immediately transformed. All warriors. Confused by their behavior, I continued to sweep.
Suddenly, another pack member burst into the kitchen. Not a welcome guest. I secretly called him Lucifer because he always treated me so viciously.
"Liana, what are you doing still here? Run!" he shouted at me in horror. Scared, I dropped the broom. He stood in front of me in a fraction of a second and grabbed my upper arms in a painful grip.
"Liana, the pack is being attacked! We are hopelessly outnumbered, we will not make it. You have to run! Run away from here!" he roared at me again and shook me as if he wanted to break my bones.
But in his face I saw pure panic. He meant it. I nodded in shock and wanted to turn around when he suddenly pressed me tightly against him. "I'm sorry for what I did to you," he whispered harshly in my ear and kissed me on the temple.
Then he pushed me towards the back door. Completely perplexed I stumbled to the back of the house and heard him scream again "Run, Liana!" before he transformed and stormed out of the house.
Outside, the sounds of a battlefield sounded. Obviously, the enemy had already worked his way up to the pack house.
Panic gripped me and I sprinted out of the house - only to come face to face with a huge, brown wolf with a blood-smeared snout. Not one of us. Quick-wittedly I kicked his snout and ran away. Away from my house. Away from my pack. Away from my life.
I still heard the screams.
"Wake up!"
"Wake up! You're having a nightmare!"
I sat up abruptly. I could only gasp for breath and was sweating all over my body. I looked around hectically. I was still in bed with Adrian, him half kneeling above me, his hands on my shoulders. He gently gripped my chin with one hand and forced me to look at him. He looked worried. When the horror of the dream gradually faded, I could finally remember what I had actually dreamed. The realization made me burst into tears. Adrian did not hesitate and pulled me to him, where he cradled me lovingly in his arms. In my broken state, I let it happen and even snuggled up to him. It was too much. It was just all too much.
"Shh, it's all going to be fine again, draga mea. You're safe here," Adrian whispered to me again and again to calm me down. It reminded me of Lucifer's last words. I blinked up at him through wet eyelashes. "What does draga mea mean?", my voice was rough from crying. How did I even have tear fluid left?
Adrian smiled slightly and kissed me fleetingly on the head. My jaw dropped to the floor. His audacity.
Instead of waiting for an answer, I snuggled deeper into his arms. If he wanted to treat me so warmly, I would at least take advantage of it while it lasted.
"My name is Liana," I whispered barely audibly. But of course, his fine vampire ears still picked it up. He audibly sucked in air and turned me around in his lap. Quickly, I grabbed the duvet which otherwise would have slipped off my bare chest due to the movement.
"You remember that?" he asked, almost breathlessly.
I nodded slightly and sniffled. "I dreamed about the last day with my pack ... That brought back some memories. But not all of them," I explained tormented.
Adrian again pressed me up against him and rattled down his draga mea calming phrase. But I only felt numb. Until he took my face in both hands and the sparks drove the blush to my face. That and the look in his eyes. To be on the safe side, I quickly put my head in the crook of his neck. On the side without the bite. At thought of it my face glowed even more.
