The apartment door creaks as Hoseok gingerly pushes it open. He steps through quietly, kicking his shoes off as the door clicks shut behind him. The lights are all off, and there is no sound coming from any of the rooms. Hoseok sighs. Yoongi must be out.

Hoseok flicks the lights on as he heads for the kitchen. Dropping his bag on the counter, he leans back and lets his head rest against the wall. He closes his eyes, enjoying the silence.

'Where the hell have you been?' Said silence is immediately broken and Hoseok snaps his eyes open to see Yoongi standing in the doorway. He swallows, trying to think of what to say.

'I went to see Jungkook,' Hoseok shrugs. Yoongi opens his mouth but he cuts him off before he can speak. 'Last night I went to see Namjoon.'

'You mean this morning?' Yoongi crosses his arms. His eyebrows are scrunched up, and he's almost... pouting. Hoseok stares for second. He can't help it, it's adorable. But Yoongi's pissed, and Hoseok knows it. 'It wasn't even five o'clock when you snuck out.'

'I didn't sneak out,' Hoseok grumbles, making himself a coffee. It's more to give him something to focus on other than Yoongi's angry expression than because he needs the caffeine. If anything he needs to calm down. 'I just went to see my friends.'

Yoongi makes a noise at the back of his throat. 'What happened last night then?'

'I don't want to talk about it,' Hoseok mumbles, not looking up from his coffee as he stirs in too much sugar.

'You didn't want to talk last night either,' Yoongi shakes his head. 'That's kind of the point.'

Hoseok turns to him, dropping the spoon on the counter. 'What do you want from me? Am I not allowed to have thoughts I don't share with you? Am I not allowed to go and see my friends whenever I want?'

Yoongi blinks at him, clearly not expecting the change in Hoseok's tone.

'We're roommates, I didn't realise I had to ask your permission.' Hoseok adds, before turning back to his coffee.

Yoongi stiffens. 'I don't know why you're being such a bitch,' he grits out, pointing at Hoseok from the doorway. 'But as far as I can tell, I haven't actually done anything wrong. You're just being a brat.'

Hoseok slams the spoon down again, turning and taking a step towards Yoongi. The other man stands his ground, staring straight back.

Hoseok opens his mouth, but when he sees the defiant look in his roommate's eyes, all the fight leaves his body. He sags as he stares at the ground.

'You're right,' he sighs. 'You haven't done anything wrong, hyung.'

Yoongi watches him, his own anger slowly fading. 'Seok, just talk to me.'

Hoseok freezes as Yoongi reaches out to squeeze his arm. His hand is warm and soft against his skin, and he fights the urge to pull away from his touch.

'I can't,' Hoseok shakes his head. 'I'm sorry, hyung, I just can't.'

Yoongi frowns, taking a step closer. 'Whatever it is, you can talk to me. You know that right?'

Hoseok laughs, but there's no humour in it. 'Not this.'

Yoongi opens his mouth to protest but Hoseok shakes his head again. They stand in silence, both looking anywhere but at each other.

Eventually, Hoseok sighs and shakes his arm out of Yoongi's grip.

'Do you want to watch a movie?' Yoongi shrugs.

Hoseok can't think of anything more awkward given the fact that they were literally just screaming at each other in the kitchen, but he gives a small nod and follows Yoongi into the living room.
