No one's pov:

Anirudh's eyes widened with shock at the new information he got from his wife.

Anirudh: Unwanted?? What do you mean?

Y/n's eyes dropped to the floor as she tried to keep her emotions in check.

Y/n: I was never the child they wanted like my brother. I am just an unwanted girl child for them.....

Y/n looked down controlling her tears, Anirudh made her look up

Anirudh: Enna ma solra??

Y/n: Enga amma appa ku verum Vijju anna-va mattum dha pudikum, he was everything they wanted, and they poured all their love and attention into him..........Actually, na avanga plan le illa.........they only wanted a son, not a daughter........unexpectedly amma pregnant aitanga

She looked down at the photo, her fingers tracing the edges of the picture as if she could somehow change the story it told,

Y/n: They didn't want me. When they found out my mother was pregnant again, they were devastated. They even tried to abort me..... but there were medical complications, and they couldn't go through with it. So they had no choice but to keep the pregnancy............but even after I was born.....

She hesitated, her voice growing thick with emotion.

Y/n: They didn't care. It was like I didn't exist

Anirudh's eyes widened, his heart breaking for her. He couldn't imagine the pain of growing up feeling unwanted.

Y/n: Ye paati dha ena valatanga.....

Y/n's continued, her voice growing quieter.

Y/n: She took care of me, fed me, and loved me in a way my parents never did. Na porandha konja naal le amma ena kandukama business, meetings and social life-la busy aitanga.....They were never really involved in my life. They just showed up for the big moments, to keep up appearances. To make sure everyone thought they were perfect parents. But behind closed doors, I was invisible.

Tears welled up in Y/n's eyes as she told her feelings, Anirudh gently took her hand, squeezing it softly.

Anirudh: Y/n, I can't believe you went through all of that. You didn't deserve to be treated like that

Y/n blinked away the tears that threatened to fall, her voice shaking slightly as she continued,

FLASHBACK.......

It was a quiet afternoon when Y/n's parents brought her home from the hospital. Her mother, Nisha, had just been discharged, and she was still recovering from the delivery. Jaanaki, Y/n's grandmother had come to help her daughter-in-law with the baby, sensing that Nisha wouldn't manage the responsibility well. From the moment Y/ was born, Jaanaki had noticed a coldness in her daughter-in-law's attitude towards the baby.

As they entered the house, Jaanaki's face lit up with joy seeing her tiny granddaughter bundled up in soft blankets. She carefully took the baby in her arms, her heart swelling with love for the little girl.

Paati: Ena kanna pakura?? Na dha voh paati. You are a blessing, my dear. I will take care of you.

She whispered gently, smiling down at the newborn. Nisha on the other hand, wore a look of irritation. She had been fuming since Y/n's birth, angry that she had been forced to keep a pregnancy she didn't want. The fact that Y/n was a girl only added to her frustration. As they entered the living room, Nisha winced from the pain in her body, still recovering from childbirth.
