Saturday night at Yatharth’s house was supposed to be a calm, chill evening. But, of course, when you throw eight friends together, things rarely go according to plan.

“Let’s do something adventurous tomorrow,” Riaan announced, leaning back on the couch like he had just solved world hunger.

“Define adventurous,” Iyaana said, eyebrow raised. “Last time you said ‘adventurous,’ we ended up playing truth or dare for three hours, and Vraj had to shave one eyebrow.”

Vraj, who was still trying to regrow that eyebrow, shot Riaan a glare. “Never again.”

“I’ve got it!” Rajveer jumped up, his eyes lighting up like he’d just discovered fire. “Polo Forest! We’ll be out in nature, bonding with the trees and whatever else lives out there.”

“Trees? Bonding?” Evara said, unimpressed. “We are not elves, Rajveer.”

“No, no, it's actually a great idea,” Yatharth chimed in, much to Vanya’s dismay. She was too busy staring at him to notice the slight flaw in this plan.

Vanya blinked, snapping out of her daydream. “Wait… are there bugs in the forest?”

“You live in a mansion with five bedrooms and you’re worried about bugs?” Yatharth teased, smirking at her.

“Hey, mosquitoes do not care about your bank balance,” she shot back, her face growing hot. She prayed no one noticed the fact that she couldn’t form coherent thoughts around Yatharth.

“I’m in,” Roohi announced, her adventurous spirit clearly awakening. “But if anyone screams because of a spider, I’m leaving you behind.”

“Noted,” Vraj muttered, side-eyeing Rajveer. “This better not turn into one of your weird team-building exercises, Raj.”

“Come on, what’s life without a little nature?” Rajveer threw his arm around Riaan’s shoulders. “We’ll roast marshmallows, tell ghost stories—”

“Ghost stories? Are you trying to get us killed?” Iyaana said, folding her arms.

“Fine,” Vanya sighed, “I guess a little ‘nature bonding’ won’t kill us… unless there’s a bear.”

“There are no bears in Polo Forest, Vanya,” Yatharth said, rolling his eyes.

“Yeah, only snakes,” Riaan added, grinning wickedly.

“Snakes?!” Vanya’s eyes widened in horror. “I’m bringing bug spray. A LOT of bug spray.”

“And snacks,” Roohi added. “If we’re going to get eaten alive by mosquitoes, I at least want chips.”

“Great, it's settled then,” Riaan said with finality. “Polo Forest in the morning. Be ready by six.”

“Six? As in… AM?” Evara groaned. “Why do your ideas always involve me losing sleep, Riaan?”

“Because you love me,” he said with a wink.

“Keep telling yourself that,” Evara shot back, but there was a smile on her face.

Vanya stood up, looking determined. “Alright, if we’re doing this, I’m coming prepared. Bug spray, snacks, and absolutely no snakes. Deal?”

Yatharth chuckled, shaking his head. “Deal, Miss Prepared.”
