(Following Queen Thunder)
A light drizzle covered the noisy jungle.
The ribbits of frogs and chirping of crickets filled the air along with a thick mist. The mist covered the natural beauty of the flowers and exotic plants that made up the jungle floor. The only light that lit the night was a lantern and the moon in the sky. All was normal for the night in the Tantrum Jungle. All except for the lack of songs from birds.
"Isn't it a splendid night for a talk?"
On top of a fallen tree was perched a small dragon. The lantern she held added an orange tinted to her pale green scales. Sitting comfortably on her head was a silver crown with colourful feathers. The crown extended from her head in tiny spikes and onto her horns adding a thorn look to them.
"Why do you look so upset, doesn't the rain make you feel right at home?"
"I will never be at home when I am with you."
The truth was that I hated Queen Anaconda and this place she called home. She was childish and impulsive despite her older age and status. All that child wanted was to have power over others and that is exactly what she gets.
"Don't be so harsh, dear sister!"
"I'm not your sister. I am an ally, not some sibling."
"Oh, so serious! We are both queens of great kingdoms and us queens know eachother better than anyone."
The small dragon didn't continue any further. Instead she watched a pink bird land on a branch just out of her reach. She then set down her lantern and started to slowly reach her claw out to grab the bird; just like a cat with a new toy. I didn't have time for bird hunting and neither should she.
"Queen Anaconda!"
With that the bird flew away from the prowling snake. Of course leaving the snake unsatisfied that she didn't catch her prey. In return to my comment the snake turned to me spreading her wings out and hissing. Trying to intimidate me was pointless. I have dealt with difficult people and children all my many years of being a queen. The lesson I learned from them is to stay unchanged: showing fear or anger as a queen only shows true weakness. Even when it's just another queen.
"I would like you to state the reason why you had me fly across the world to see you. If you do not do this I will leave you and return to my people. Maybe I can actually do something productive there."
"Alright, alright, I'll tell, I'll tell!" Queen Anaconda said in a rush. Her eyes raced across the tree's for the tiniest sight of her prey as she began to relax her body once more.
"I recently came into possession of a deed to a very prestigious school." She said with a growing smirk. Spreading her sharp claw wide; eyeing it all the while.
"The same school that started the All Magical Initiative."
"I know where this is going. Now that you have the deed you plan on doing something to the school. You are just checking in on me because you are aware I can take back control of the land at any point since it's my territory."
"Bravo! Somebody get this dragon a cookie!" Queen Anaconda cheered, flailing her wings in the process. "I knew you would piece the puzzle together. Now the only question is, will you let me get away with my plan?"
After she said this, a pause filled the air. Not a sound could be heard from the trees nor wildlife. It was as if the world was waiting for my answer. I haven't spent much time in the Tantrum Jungle but the silence felt more unnatural than the feeling of just being in the jungle itself. Is this some strange event with a scientific explanation or are the gods themselves watching. I feel like I'm being stared at by some strange force or like I am being read like some dumb scroll. Whatever this was I need to focu-
