"Remind me again why I am here? I don't do 'community'." Complaining as I gather supplies to help build the newest park. "Because," Caroline explains, "I am in crisis with my mother and in need of your support. Plus you know..." the easiest way to find Katherine is to be around the one she is using as a mole. Sighing, I hand over the items to the blonde as I go to get a few more things. I come back to see the doppelganger helping the baby vamp painting a railing. Care is talking to her"Maybe he's got a point." "Who's got a point?" I question as I flop down beside my friend. Pursing her lips the doppelganger, "Don't worry about it." Looking between them I see the topic getting dropped as I take the brush I got and dip it into paint to begin helping.

Not long after Caroline pipes up, "Oh, oh. Longing looks are being exchanged." Smirking at the faux drama I watch as the brunette seems to steal herself as she claims, "I'm gonna go talk to him." The baby vamp playing her part responds with, "No, Elena. I think it's a bad idea." The girl ignores her as she walks over to the younger Salvatore, the elder joining the two of us. "What's her problem?" Rolling my eyes I let my friend take that one. "Don't worry about it." He follows it up with "Why are you being such a bitch to your mom?" Exasperated, this time I am the one to say, "Don't worry about it." The raven haired vampire glances at me before seemingly disregarding me. They both are seemingly concentrating on something while pretending not to be. Shaking my head at their ridiculousness, noticing that we are done painting I begin to pack up, Not realizing when Damon walks away. Caroline seeing that I am gathering everything up helps. "Well," I tell her, "that is my good deed for the decade." Care laughs at my declaration as I continue on. " I am going to head out. Do something I actually want to do today. Are you good?" Checking on her making sure she is okay. Getting the nod I head out of the newly minted park.

Getting into my car I drive around a bit, aimlessly searching. My phone buzzes in the cupholder, as I pick it up. Mom found out. Isn't happy. Was prepared to die rather than lie. Going to dry her out and compel her. Am I a monster?-C Oh boy. Hey, she may just be in shock. Plus people around here don't actually know the truth about vampires. Don't take it to heart until you can actually explain things. -K followed up with another message directly after. You're only a monster in the way a unicorn is. Not human, but pure of heart. Don't let bigots get you down. Your monster mash of a family loves you even if your bio one doesn't.-K Taking a deep breath I turn my car toward home.

Late the next night finds an irate blonde pacing in my living room as she rants about her mother. "...it's not like she ever really cared, you know. Even before I died she ignored me if there was work to be done." Sitting on my couch with my feet pulled up so as to not interfere with her frantic pacing, I nod in the correct places as she carries on with her tirade. Finally having enough I grip her arm, having her flop onto the couch next to me. I take her hands, putting them into mine as I have her look at me. "Care, she is from a prejudiced family who doesn't know any better. You're better off treating her like a Southerner from the 60s. Stupid and uneducated to what it is actually like for someone like you. She doesn't know. I have heard about this council and everything they think they know about the supernatural and it is as correct as a dyslexics essay. You are amazing, you were before you were turned. You are twice as amazing after. I cannot wait to spend your long long life with you. But, girlie, you either put up or shut up." Confused, she tilts her head at me like a puppy. "Explain what is actually going on, tell her the truth about vampires, give her time to compute, then accept her reaction, compel her, or don't, and move on. I love you, Garrett loves you. If the woman who birthed you doesn't then that is her loss and our gain. Okay." Her blue eyes water a bit as she emotionally brings me into a hug. A muffled, "what did I do to deserve you." is heard from my shoulder. I pull out of the hug, petting down her hair as I hold her face in my hands. "Now," I began seriously, "what do you say about watching the notebook." A grateful smile makes its way onto her face. Before we get settled the baby vamp turns to me sternly as she pronounces, "No siphoning my emotions." Sheepishly I release the grip I started to take on the negative emotions from my friend as we become comfortable on my couch.

Caroline left to go visit her mother the next day leaving me to catch up on correspondence. Over the years I have made many connections to various people and species in the supernatural community. Surprisingly witches even seem to communicate with me even after some find out just what exactly I am, at least what they think I am. Needless to say with the invention of the internet keeping in touch with various people has become a lot easier. There is even a chatroom run by an enterprising young warlock to help exchange rare ingredients, materials, sometimes even spells. I am in the middle of responding to an email sent to me by a hoodoo priest descended from one I met in Nigeria when my phone buzzes. They think they know where the moonstone is. Old lockwood property, there is a well. Heading there now. -C I close the lid to my laptop as I head toward where I keep my ingredient I may need for spells.

Caroline has already told me what she knew about the moonstone which wasn't much. However, I am well versed in important magical objects and know the story behind this one. It sealed a curse which makes it powerful, it did it a long time ago which makes it important and Katherine wants it which makes it meaningful. I grab a moonstone from my collection as I head toward the Lockwoods, responding to Care as I move. If you get the chance to make a switch let me know I am heading that way with a replacement. If not will do later just try to get a picture.-K I make my way through the woods following the string that connects me to Caroline. As I get closer I hear a commotion. I see Stefan Salvatore on the ground as Eleana kneels by him with Caroline and the Bennett huddle close by. Caroline looks up, the only one to notice my approach. Without looking at me she tosses me a box. I catch with ease opening it up. Laying inside is a white stone almost glowing with power. I take the moonstone I brought with me, shaping it, smoothing out the edges until it is the same size as the one from the box. Once that is done, I add a bit of magic I have lingering in my veins. As soon as it starts to luminate I stop putting the replica into the box before spelling the box and its contents back to Caroline. The other three not knowing what was going on as they gather themselves from what looks like an ordeal. I nod my head toward my coven mate as I head back toward town and my apartment thinking about where to hide an important item such as the one I have. Sitting down on my couch with my laptop on the coffee table in front of me I contemplate my pilfered goods. A ding brings me out of my inspection of the powerful talisman. A notification from one of the chatrooms. A mischievous smile adorns my face as I read the message. Well, looks like the world is starting to hear the whispers of a potential doppelganger. Let the fun begin.

I come in many sizes, sometimes broken, sometimes whole, with stories of love and sometimes sorrow, but always aiming for a brighter tomorrow. What am I?
