"They wouldn't know where we are, let's rest today, and pack so we're ready for tonight's flight" I assert as we sit on the balcony chairs, the beach staring back at us as we rethink everything that's happened, my body still in shock.
"Let's stay close, they will most likely be on the lookout" Phoebe suggested as she licked her ice cream, her eyes sharp as she tried to process in her own way.
"Definitely, we are staying on the beach, then back here and then in our taxi on the way to the airport" I confirm, taking a lick off of her ice cream.
"I could use some saltwater on me right now" she murmurs with a smile as we stare into the ocean, the hotel giving the perfect view.
"I'm right with you" I respond in a mumble before giving her back her ice cream.
Walking down to the beach, I can sense how on edge she is, her hands wrapped with her other, picking the skin near her nails. "It'll be fine, they haven't found us yet, if they knew where we were, they would have been in our room, guns blazing" I try to reassure, mentally face palming myself at my last comment. "I mean, they would have found us by now" I polish.
"You're right, it's just scary, and I want to get out of here" Phoebe states as she settles her feet into the sand, taking a deep breath of relief at the coolness beneath.
"Same, our flight is in a few hours, we'll chill for an hour and get back, we'll be out of here in no time, we're already packed anyways" I assure softly, digging my painted toe nails into the sand.
The hour was spent mostly in the water, swimming like children with our goggles on that are guaranteed to leave a very peculiar tan line when we're back home. "Fuck fuck fuck, it's in my eye!" I yell out, the salt water burning my eyes.
"Look up at the sun!" She shouts in a laugh, her body fully underwater with her head sticking out, her dark black hair stuck to her head.
I obey and tilt my head up, hoping the sun will dry out my eyes so I don't have to get out to wipe them. Waiting a little moment, I open my eyes, the burn gone before I turn around to face her. "Thank you" I murmured, my eyes dragging past her towards the beach, a blacked out car parked right behind the wall separating the beach.
"What?" Phoebe questioned as she turned around, catching on to my silent expression.
"Nothing, sorry, hot girl that walked passed." I dismiss with a chuckle, pulling her back to turn around and face me. They're watching, I know they are.
"Wait I wanna see" she moaned as she tried to turn back around, curious to see who I was referring to.
"She's gone now, and you're straight Phoebe" I tainted with a chuckle.
"Yes, but you never know, maybe I'm into girls now" she insinuated with a sly smirk.
"Phoebe, if you were gay, we would have been married by now, stop playing" I scolded with a roll of my eyes, laughing when she wraps her arms around my shoulder.
"Let's get married then, I'll be a better wife than that crazy lady" she murmured with a grin, reaching her face closer to mine. "Come on, kiss me, mi amor" Phoebe mumbles playfully.
"You want me to kiss you?" I question with a raise of my brow.
"Go ahead" she challenged with a raise of her own brow.
With a chuckle, I lean in and kiss her softly, sneaking my tongue over her lip as I pull her in fully, my palms cupping her cheeks.
Pulling away, she giggles. "You're a good kisser but yeah, I'm not gay" she concluded with a little grimace.
