MOVING across the country isn't the funnest thing ever for a seventeen year old. Sure, the adventure could be somewhat enjoyable and the change is as well but of course you start to miss things, which seventeen year old Gwendolyn— and or Gwen— most definitely disagreed with.

She didn't want to move one bit. She was from Georgia, and was 'migrating' as she called it, to New York. She LOVED Georgia. Her mom and dad decided to move for two main reasons. One, her father had gotten a new job and was forced to move. And two, she had more family there.

And today, she was starting her first day of school at a completely new school. She knew NOBODY there.

Gwen nervously fumbled with her schedule along with the map of the school, trying to analyze where her first period was. "Field, Comprehensive Science, Room 403"

Her gaze shifted towards the building before her, which she assumed was building four. She swallowed the lump in her throat and trudged through the building, finding her classroom. 403.

She walked into the classroom, her eyes analyzing all of the unfamiliar faces. The teacher, who she assumed was Mrs. Field, greeted her instantly.

"You must be Gwendolyn! Welcome to our school, are you enjoying it so far?"

Gwen was about to pop out a snarky remark, however she decided against it as she was talking to a teacher. "Yes, ma'am. Where do you want me to sit?" She mumbles, looking through all the students.

"Oh over there!" The woman points toward a desk next to another girl with light brown hair. Gwen nodded and made her way toward the unknown girl. She took her messenger bag off before placing it on her floor near her chair. She sat down rested her cheek on the palm of her hand.

"Are you new?" She heard a voice say. Gwen turned her head.

"Yeah, I am.." She nods her head. "My name is Maisie, or mae." Mae smiles. "I'm gwen."

The two conversed until the bell rang. Unfortunately, they had to split ways as they didn't have another class together until 4th and 6th period.

Gwen had made her way to lunch, which was before fourth period. Her eyes drifted among the other students in her grade, and she tried to find Mae. Though, she wasn't even sure Mae even wanted her to sit with her.

Almost on cue, she feels a tap on her shoulder.

"Gwen!" Mae greets , shifting next to her in the lunch line. "Hey Mae, I was looking for you."

"Would you wanna..uhh.. sit with me and my friends?" She replied with a somewhat nervous tone. "Sure!" Gwen smiled.

The two weasled through the crowd and Mae finally found her table. Two other people were sitting there. One of them was a girl with a blond shaggy haircut, and the other was a boy with black and blond tips.

"Oh hello !!" The blond girl starts off. "Are you new?"

Gwen had gotten that question all day, obviously she was new. I guess the people here don't get new people often. She thought.

"Yeah, actually.. My names Gwen."

"Like Gwen stacy?" The boy giggled to himself. "Thats such a cool name! I'm liane, or Lee, I really don't mind!"

"I'm myles," Myles rested his arms on the table. Gwen nodded slowly. "Like miles morales?"

Myles snorted. "Oohh is that a The Cure pin??? You listen to them??" Liane gushed, pointing to Gwen's messenger bag. "Yes of course I do!!" She replied, matching lianes enthusiasm.

"Wait, can I look at your pins?" Mae asks, pointing toward her bag. Gwen nods and smiles.

"Oh my gosh you're actually so real..." Mae giggles, analyzing each one. "IS THAT THE SMITHS?Oh my gosh no way.."

"I LOVE THE SMITHS." Gwen cracked her knuckles and leaned against the table.

"Oh Gwen!! They have chicken nuggets today come on come on come on!!" Mae stands up and sets her bag down. The two walk back into the lunch line.

IT was now sixth period, art class. Which probably was going to be her favorite part of her schedule.

Luckily, she had that class with Myles, Liane, and May. The other three already had a table together so they invited Gwen to it as well.

As the teacher was taking attendance, Gwen was looking around trying to remember faces to names. Whenever the teacher would take attendance in her other classes, she would use it as an opportunity to learn names and faces.

She rested her hand on her palm and let her eyes drift amongst the room.

Her eyes set on a boy wearing a beanie inside. She raised an eyebrow. "Whys that kid wearing a beanie inside?"

The three started laughing. "Are you talking about alex??" Myles giggled. "I guess so," Gwen pointed.

"He always has a horrible haircut so he jist wears it everywhere. I've never seen him take it off and I've been his friend for ten years.." Myles reminisces, then taking a swig of his waterbottle.

"Cant he go to another barber or something?" She asked leaning her elbows on the desk. "His mom cuts his hair, it saves money. God i love his mom—" Liane gushed before stopping herself.

"Lee what the freak." Mae said, her jaw almost hitting the floor.

"Overall, alex is a pretty chill guy. He's super fun, yall would probably get along." Myles shrugged.
