HER seventh period came and she was honestly ready to go home. Her teacher— whos name she couldn't even remember— announced there was going to be new assigned seats.
She heard her name called and she followed through with the seating plan. Luckily, she was sat near the back, not near anyone. Except for the fact she was placed by Alex.
She didn't have a massive issue with it, however she did still recall in the morning with the awkward moment.
Its not like she planned on even talking to him. She barely knew him.
She sunk into her seat as her teacher began the lesson. She zoned out, tapping her pencil. She focused on the clock
Snapping her out of her thoughts, her teacher said the forbidden words;
"How about we hear from someone new? Gwen?"
She shuddered. She hadn't paid attention to the lesson barely at all.
"Uhm.. Can I hear the question again?"
Ms. 'Whatever her name is' scoffs. "Well were you not paying attention ms. adams?"
Gwen dug her fingernails into her palm. Is she serious? Sure Iwasn't paying attention, but what if Iwasn't?? Maybe Ididn't hear the question correctly?
"Maybe pay attention next time."
Gwen practically had to hold back the eye roll. "Nice one.." the boy next to her mumbled with an annoyed tone.
Her head snapped toward Alex. "Excuse me?" she whispered.
"Nice one. That was the easiest question you could get."
"Oh wow it's almost like I asked her to repeat the question because I didn't hear it." She rolled her eyes.
"Maybe if you were playing attention." He said sarcastically.
"Shut up, you're literally wearing a beanie inside."
"Aren't you wearing headphones around your neck during a math lesson?"
She scrunched her nose up at him. She decided she wouldn't say anything back, as she really didn't have anything to say back.
However, it got worse. Oh boy, did it get worse. Why? Because Ms. 'Whatever her name is' announced that you have to work in partners. Not so bad right? No, no, its bad. With the person next to you.
Gwen visibly cringed when she said that. She literally just insulted him. He was already seeming like a d**k.
She slowly turned her head to Alex, then immediately spotting the glare he had shot toward her and turned around.
Alex raised his hand and the teacher came to him. "Can I work alone?"
