The stadium roared with excitement. "Dhoni! Dhoni! Dhoni!" The chants echoed as MS Dhoni, stood tall on the crease, his eyes focused, bat raised. It was the final over of IPL 2025, and CSK needed just six runs to clinch their sixth title.
The bowler ran in. The crowd held its breath. Dhoni swung his bat with a familiar, effortless grace.
Crack!
The ball soared through the air, over the boundary. The stadium erupted in wild cheers as Dhoni secured another victory for CSK. Vanika leaped from her seat, cheering along with thousands of fans.
But just as the trophy was being lifted, a loud, obnoxious beeping sound pierced through the celebration.
Her eyes snapped open.
"Ugh, not again," she groaned, realizing she was running late for school.
Vanika rushed through her morning routine, taking a quick bath and throwing on her clothes in a hurry.
As she offered a short prayer, she murmured, "Hey Shiv ji, bas aaj bacha lena... school kepehle din hi main late nahi hona chahti."
In her frantic rush, she started throwing things here and there when her mother, Dipti, appeared at the door, shaking her head. "Subah se chaar baar utha chuki hoon iss Kumbhkaran ki saatvi aulad ko!"
[I've already woken up this sleepyhead four times since morning!]
Vanika, still fumbling around, groaned in frustration, "Are yaar, Mummy! Baad mein suna lena, pehle mere socks dhoondho, jaldi! Mil nahi rahe hain!"
[Oh no, Mom! You can scold me later; first, help me find my socks, quick! I can't find them]
Dipti sighed, digging around the house for the missing socks. "Jab kal bola tha sab kuch pehle se prepare kar lo, warna subah late ho jaaogi, toh kyun nahi suni meri baat?"
[When I told you to prepare everything yesterday, why didn't you listen?]
While searching frantically, Vanika accidentally bumped her foot against the side of the bed. She let out a dramatic cry, holding her foot and exclaiming, "Aayii, Mummy, lag gayaa!! Mera pair toot gaya!!"
[Ouch Mom! My foot's hurt]
Dipti shook her head, clearly amused. "Ye made-in-China wala item galti se India mein paida ho gaya hai."
[This made-in-China item has somehow been born in India]
After what felt like an eternity, Dipti finally found the socks hidden behind the couch. Vanika snatched them, muttering a quick thank you, and hastily slipped them on.
She tied her hair into a ponytail while sitting on the couch, her fingers moving swiftly. Meanwhile, her mother disappeared into the kitchen, getting breakfast ready.
