Swara's pov

"Thank you for saying that, you are the best!"

Sanskar lightly pushed me away and oh the look on his face!

Great, I should get award for making people awkward and uncomfortable.

But then I was too happy, my embarrassment was short lived as I smiled taking the phone back. "I will pay you back with interest when I become a singer", I said confidently with a smile and he smiled back at me.

We both then started to go to the hospital.

I got tears seeing my Dida. Her sweet laughters and taunts for the Gadodia family could not hide her tired eyes. The Doctor said she can be discharged tomorrow. I made Maa sit beside Dida and sat next to both of them. I looked at Sanskar standing at the corner of the room, he gave me an assuring nod. I let out a breathe and said,

"Maa, Dida I am thinking to go to Mumbai and pursue my dream of being a singer", they both looked at each other worriedly.

Maa and Dida were never against my dream but they were surely very worried for me. "Shona we would love it if you become a singer but we have heard how tough the industry can be. We don't doubt your talent, it's just.." Maa said carefully choosing her words but I held her hand.

"I will be sad with failure Maa but I will be heartbroken if I never try", I saw my Dida lightly smiling at my words. She cupped my face, "Go Shoru. You can do it!" My Maa also smiled assuringly. I hugged both of them happily.

"But where will you stay?" Maa asked and that's when Sanskar stepped in. After that what I saw was almost an one hour conversation where Sanskar patiently answered all the questions by Maa and Dida.

Had I been him, I would have been like baad mein jaaye guilt! I would have ran away with these many questions from two women who looked no less than cops.

I should have taken him to my PTA meetings in school, he handles everyone well. Wait what? Shona, he must also be a kid back then! I lightly slapped my head at my thoughts and then sighed as Maa and Dida finally got convinced.

Sanskar left after sometime, I felt so happy spending time with Maa and Dida. Soon the day came to an end, only one person can stay at night with the patient. I asked Maa to go baadi and take some rest as she has been continuously staying in the hospital since yesterday.

Maa left and Dida fell asleep soon because of medicines. I looked at my new phone, should I inform Sanskar? Will he be waiting for me?

I had already saved his number this morning, I called him.

"When should I pick you?" I heard a voice as soon as the call got picked up. I licked my lips and said, "I will stay at the hospital tonight, Maa went to Baadi". There was silence for sometime. "Okay good night", he said and the call went dead. I frowned looking at the phone. Jeez why does he have to be so arrogant?

I edited his contact name from 'Sanskar' to 'Khadus'. I saw Dida sleeping peacefully and smiled, I lay on the couch and closed my eyes to sleep.

I woke up in the morning to see my Dida sleeping peacefully. I took my phone to see a message from Sanskar, he asked me to call him when I want to leave from the hospital. I looked up hearing a sound to see Maa coming inside.

"Good morning Shona", she said smiling as she approached and hugged me. "You leave now, Dida is getting discharged today. I will call you when the formalities are done. You come and meet Dida once before you leave to Mumbai". She said all happy and cheerful but I know she was sad I was leaving.
