[4] The Ultimate Betrayal

As the day of the wedding is on,
Riya checked her watch for the umpteenth time, her anxiety growing. "Anushka, we have only 6 hours left before the wedding. We should be getting ready."

Anushka's eyes sparkled with an unsettling intensity. "Just one last thing, Riya. Please come with me to the temple. Maybe I won't get this moment again."

Riya hesitated, sensing something off. "What's so urgent? We can visit after the wedding."

Anushka's grip on Riya's arm tightened. "Please, Riya. For me. For us. For Aarav???"

Riya relented, uneasy. "Fine, but we must hurry."

As they drove to the temple, an eerie silence filled the air. Riya's mind raced with doubts.

Upon arriving, Anushka Riya prayed and after praying anushka took Riya to a secluded river dam spot, hidden from prying eyes.

"Anushka, what's going on?" Riya demanded.

Anushka's smile sent shivers down Riya's spine. "Nothing let's spend a few moments together watching the river "

Suddenly, Anushka says Riya lets go a few further on the dam,

Riya says "fine sis!!! "

The sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the serene river. Anushka's grip on Riya's hands tightened, her eyes filled with a mix of emotions.
She holds both the hands of riya in her palms and says....

"Riya, you know I love you so much, I owe you so so much sister," Anushka's eyes gleamed with a sinister intent as she said Riya into the river. "Sorry, Riya," she said, her voice dripping with malice. "I didn't want to do this, but I love my Aarav too much and I cannot let you have him."
As the words ended With a sudden jolt, Anushka pushed Riya into the river throwing her off the dam. Riya's scream was muffled by the water.

Riya's scream was cut short as she plunged into the water, the shock of the cold liquid taking her breath away. She struggled to swim to the surface, but....

Anushka as she pushed her collapsed to her knees, overcome with anguish. "Riyaaa... sorry, Riyaa... sorry for what I have done..." she wailed.

As Riya struggled to stay afloat, Anushka's thoughts turned to herself . "Riyaaa riyaa sorry riyaa sorry for what I have done but I cannot live without my love my Aarav sorry Riya sorry, cries and Shouts.... "

With a heavy heart, Anushka rose and walked away, leaving Riya to die in the river to her fate.

Back home, the wedding is about to begin and the families are ready to get vows exchanged.
Suddenly, Anushka as she returned back concocted a lie. "Riya wasn't happy with the marriage. She ran away."

The family was shocked. Anushka presented a manipulated video as proof - Riya saying, "I don't want this marriage."

Unbeknownst to them, Anushka had drugged Riya the night before, recording the video in her semi-conscious state.

Aarav's body fell down on knees; as Anushka delivered the news. "What? Riya left? Without a word?"

Anushka feigned concern. "I know, I'm shocked too. She seemed unhappy yesterday, but I thought she'd come around."

Aarav's eyes narrowed. "This doesn't feel right. Riya would never leave without talking to me."

Anushka handed him her phone with the manipulated video. "She recorded this last night. I didn't know what to do."

Aarav's expression changed from skepticism to shock. "This can't be... Why didn't she talk to me?"

Anushka's tears flowed. "I think she felt trapped. We should respect her decision."
