Hailey has never been the type of girl to care about what other people thought about her. Unlike the other girls,Hailey liked wearing sweat pants and hoodies, and had her hair up almost every single day. If you were lucky, you could catch her on the weekend with her hair down, but that was about it. She wasn't really into being a Princess, and when she was little her favorite thing to do was to skate with her brothers. Some would say she was a tom boy. That was perfectly fine with her.
Her best friend Mariyah was always looking out for her and there for her whenever she needed it, so being a good friend and all,she decided that since their Senior year was just around the corner, she was going to convince Hailey to actually try. She just wanted her bestie to party with her, hang out with other girls, and ... well,be happy. Mariyah was devastated to hear that her best friend of ten years had turned down one of the most desired boys at their school just a few weeks ago. He had girls lining up just to talk to him,so when he asks you to go out with him... You go. No questions asked. You just go..
"I still can not believe you told him no!!" Mariyah exclaimed, laying on her back on Hailey's bed as they listened to music and just enjoyed the slight breeze coming from the open window across the room.
"Why can't you believe it? I don't date. It would be awkward anyway, I used to skate with that kid." Hailey said, as if it didn't have a care in the world. She was telling the truth. Back when her brothers were still around, and not in college, a bunch of boys, and Hailey, would go to the skate park and do what they did best. Around town she was known as their "Secret Weapon". Probably because she was a girl..and other people didn't really expect her to be as good as she is at skating.
"Oh my god! Hailey!" Mariyah exclaimed, sitting up and looking at her like she was crazy. "Do you hear yourself right now?! You told Logan Barnes no! No one EVER, turns that sexy piece of man down! You need to learn how to just say yes." Mariyah started pacing the room and mumbling things to herself. Hailey rolled her eyes and sat in her window seat and started flipping through a Pro Skating magazine.
Down below, there were a couple of boys skating past and making a whole lot of noise. Looking down into the streets from her second story home, she watched curiously. They were doing tricks off of curbs and other yard object and jaoking loudly with one another. A smile smile spread across her lips. God,she missed Tony and Blake, her brothers. They used to pretty much OWN this town, and Hailey was just the little sister who followed them around. She didn't mind though.
"Hailey! Are you even listening to me? Hailey?... Hailey?!" Mariyah groaned and walked over to the window seat and looked out. Seeing the skater boys she rolled her eyes. "Really? Hailey, its time for some change. Starting with your apparel." Mariyah said closing the window and pulling Hailey up to stand. "You need to get rid of every single pair of guy basketball shorts you own AND all your hoodies. Mariyah Renae Reynolds. I love you to death, but you need help. Some serious help!"
Sighing, Hailey knew her best friend was right. Not that she would ever admit it. "But Mariyah! I have nothing else!" Smirking, Mariyah shook her head.
"I had a feeling you'd tell me that. But I know you're just bullshitting with me. I talked to your mom. She said she'd just love love love to see her little girl happy. My friend, that is all up to me. I'm about to make you happy. No more boys clothes. Get ready to be a girl."
Hailey had a bad feeling about this. Mariyah was somebody, that when they did something... they went all out. But seriously, what was wrong with the clothes she had? She was comfortable and people didn't get to see the parts of her she didn't want them to see. She didn't want to have a piece of floss up her ass and a tight top on so she couldn't breath. People that did that to themselves where just crazy in Hailey's mind.
Mariyah went into Haileys closet and returned ten minutes later with a sack full of clothes. "Say good bye to your basket ball shorts Hay Hay." She threw the bag out the window and Brad,Mariyah's boyfriend took it and put it in his car. Oh great. "Mariyah... I have nothing else to wear!"
"Then go nude. They'd like to see a little bit of your skin now and then Hails" Mariyah said returning to the closet.
"No! Mariyah! Please! That is my favorite hoodie! You cannot throw that out!" Hailey whimpered as Mariyah took scissors and cut big holes in it before throwing it down too.
"I'm Sorry Hailey. I care about you.. Tomorrow,we are going shopping. We have a week to make you into the new you. You will soon be the second hottest girl in the school, right under me of course!"
Hailey took a deep breath and sighed, "Yeah. Cool."
The whole girly girl thing was just not her. How did her best friend expect her to actually pull this off? This was about to be the most impossible week of her life.
"Toodles. Be ready at exactly eight a.m. Welcome to girl world Hailey. Today,is that day!" Mariyah yelled as she left the Reynolds residence.
