Chrisen

"What's her name, mommy?" I asked, gazing up at my mom while holding her left hand. It's my seventh birthday, and we're celebrating at our mansion. Many guests are here, and kids my age, but I'm not playing with them. I'm usually shy. I'm the only child of Kaede and Datrius Miller.

Mommy smiled and looked at me. "You probably don't remember her; you only saw her once. She's my best friend; her name is Porcia, and she's your godmother."

"She's my godmother?" I asked excitedly.

Porcia approached us, and mommy hugged her. "Thank you for accepting my invitation, Porcia. I know you're busy with your studies."

Mommy had just finished her studies a year ago and was now twenty-four, which meant Porcia was also twenty-four.

"You already know I needed my MBA, Kaede," Porcia said with a raised eyebrow.

"The great Porcia," Mommy teased.

I couldn't help but admire Porcia; she's sophisticated, graceful, tall, and beautiful. When our eyes met for the first time, my heart skipped a beat. I felt happy and shy, knowing she's my godmother.

Mommy introduced me to Porcia, and I smiled at her. "You're gorgeous, godmother."

Porcia smiled back. "Thank you."

I didn't know what was happening, but I wanted to be close to her. I let go of mommy's hand and approached Porcia slowly. I placed my small hands on her cheeks; they were soft and smooth. We had similar fair skin. I hugged her tightly, enjoying her scent.

Cael called me to play, but I declined, preferring to stay with mommy. "I don't want to play, Cael. I'm okay."

Godmother Porcia asked my mom if she was spoiling me. Mommy replied, "She's not spoiled; she's just smart and determined."

Porcia mentioned that maybe there's another way for mommy to have more children. Mommy explained that after having me, she and my dad Datrius tried everything, but it wasn't possible.

Porcia asked what if I would make the same decisions as mommy, falling in love at a young age. Mommy said she wouldn't mind as long as whoever it was wouldn't hurt me.

When asked Porcia about marrying, said she didn't want a relationship; men are just pain.

I interrupted, "Godmother, when I grow up, I'll marry you so you won't be alone. I'll take care of you."

Mommy and Porcia exchanged glances, and Porcia smiled. "She's innocent, Kaede. Don't make it as a big deal, right, beautiful?"

I nodded seriously, and Porcia looked at me intensely.

Porcia, I am serious and when I get old. I'm gonna make you mine gorgeous.

Fourteen years later

"I'm home!" I shouted as I entered our mansion. Mom spilled the tea she was drinking. I giggled.

"Chrisen!" Mom was overjoyed, rushing to hug me tightly. I hugged her back, missing her a lot.

"When did you arrive? You didn't tell me so I could pick you up," She asked.

"Relax, mom. I wanted to surprise you and dad. How can it be a surprise if I tell you?" I just arrived from Australia, where I've been living and studying since elementary. Throughout high school, mom was with me, but she returned home when I started college. I decided to come home and finish my studies here; I have one year left. I know it sounds ridiculous but I have more important things to do.
