Nikke Gaming Commander

Chapter 3

After defeating the Blacksmith, Rapi, Anis, and Y/N headed toward the Ark with Y/N limping slightly from his injuries.

Anis: Are you sure you're ok, Commander? You got smacked by that Rapture rather hard.

Y/N: I-I'm fine. Well...mostly.

Anis: Even so....

Y/N: Look you don't have to worry about me right now. Let's get back to the Ark and hopefully get some rest.

Rapi: Understood. However, you should be checked out for your injuries. You appeared to be in a lot of pain given what happened.

Y/N: Noted. I hope the next mission won't...... never mind.

Anis: Won't be what?

Y/N: I'm not going to say anything cause if I do, I feel like I'm going to jinx myself. Of course, you did jinx us already Anis.

Anis: W-What!? It's not my fault!

Y/N: Uh huh. So you say.

They continued to walk for a while remaining quiet given what happened to Marian. Y/N was depressed as he wanted to do something to save Marian but there wasn't anything he could've done. So many thoughts raged in his mind thinking what he could've done differently but what's done is done. Eventually, they arrived at a clearing which confused Y/N as ther wasn't anything nearby aside from a few mounds scattered throughout.

Rapi: Shifty, we're at the location.

Shifty: Roger. The elevator is on its way up. It should be there soon.

Y/N: Elevator? Sorry but how...

Suddenly, a large portion of the ground rose from the ground revealing an elevator as the doors opened up. Y/N blankly stared at the elevator as Rapi walked in.

Y/N: ....never mind.

Anis: Hehehe, suprised Commander? Smiling.

Y/N: Yeah. You got me there.

The two of them entered the elevator as the doors closed behind them. Slowly, it started to descend as Y/N leaned against the wall.

Anis: Shifty. About Marian... Just what the hell is going on?

Shifty: That corruption code implanted into Marian's brain must be acting as a navigator. It guides Nikkes to the Blackmsith's location.

Y/N: Basically, having their "food" delivered to their doorstep right?

Shifty: ....yes.

Anis: But she was acting completely normal before she went haywire.

Shifty: That's probably because of the Commander.

Y/N: Me? Confused.

Shifty: Yes. A Nikke's highest priority is protecting their Commander and obeying any orders given.

Y/N: I see. Though when you put it like that it sounds like Nikkes are just slaves. Pisses me off. Muttering quietly.

Rapi looked at Y/N feeling concerned about him.

Y/N: Though...when we got close to the Blacksmith that's when things changed.

Shifty: That's right. Which means that the corruption...was quite severe.

The three of them remained silent as Y/N clenched his fist tightly feeling furious. As the elevator continued to descend, Y/N looked up at the ceiling lost in his thoughts.
