Chapter 2- Worse Than The Dramas

"HEY! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND!?"

"I TOLD YOU I'M SORRY!" I yelled from the other side of the door, my hand holding onto the door knob as if my life depended on it. 

"I LEAVE YOU ALONE FOR A NIGHT AND YOU END UP SLEEPING WITH A STRANGER!? WHAT IF I HAD LEFT YOU ALONE FOR AN ENTIRE DAY?" She yelled and tried her best to open the door but I wasn't going to let her do so.
The last thing I would want is to get murdered by my sister. 

"It was just a night!" I protested, "What should I have done instead, huh!? Cried my eyes out on my birthday!?" 
I could not believe that I was defending myself because of a one-night stand.

"HEY!" She yelled but calming herself down. I heard her taking deep breaths before she said, "Alright, come out now." 

"NO! NEVER! You'll nag at me for hours!"

"I won't do that. Now, come out."

I hesitated but eventually, I came out of the room. I expected her to immediately start nagging at me but surprisingly, she was calm. VERY CALM. And that was alarming. 
She gently patted the space next to her on the bed, gesturing me to sit there. With small and hesitant steps I walked up to the bed before I sat next to her. 

"This is the last time I'll be covering up for you at home. Good thing that Mom and Dad are at Grandma's place for a few days," She said calmly

I nodded, "Thank you, Unnie," 

"So, tell me," She said with a small mischievous smile on her face. OH, I IMMEDIATELY KNEW WHAT SHE WAS GOING TO ASK ME. "How was it!? Who was the guy? What's his name? Was he hot? What does he do? Does he have a big—"

"UNNIE! AM I NOT YOUR YOUNGER SISTER!? HOW CAN YOU ASK ME ABOUT MY... my sex life," I whispered the last part.

"I'm curious because I'm your elder sister. Now, answer all those questions,"

"Hmm, let me think... I don't know... I don't know... I don't know...  yes... I don't know... I DON'T KNOW!" 

She blinked a few times trying to understand what I just said. "YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT HIM?!"

"Argh! It was just a one-time thing, why do I need to know so much about him?" 

"Well, that is fair." She nodded in agreement. "But... Y/n?" 

"Hmm?"

"You know, how they show in the dramas... the female lead has a one-night stand and the guy ends up being her boss," she paused and then continued, "What if that happens to you when—"

"HEY! DON'T JINX IT!" 

"But, what if—"

"STOP IT!"

That's not how what will happen, right?
Pfft! Of course, not! Those kinds of things only happen in dramas and books. And this is real life. There is no way in hell that he will turn out to be my boss.

THAT IS NOT WHAT WILL HAPPEN RIGHT?

I couldn't help but think about what my sister said as I dressed for my first day at work. I've worked as a nutritionist at many other companies but let's just say that they did not pay me well enough. Usually, I'd be hired for the wellness of the employees by providing them with nutritious meals however, this was the first time that I would be working to develop meals that would be shipped all over the country. 

"Soul Foods" is quite known for its affordable but nutritious meals that they provide. 
When I first appeared for the interview, I had no idea that I would be selected. But, life can be unpredictable sometimes.
