TAEHYUNG'S POV:
I stood outside the door, my hand clutching onto the box I was holding onto while my heart slowly fastened as I heard footsteps approaching the door. A few seconds later, the door opened with a creak.
I couldn't bring myself to lift my head. It was too hard. My fingers felt numb to the point where I felt like I'd drop the box at any moment.I wanted to say something but I couldn't. Words just wouldn't come out of my mouth.
"This... I found these and... I came to return—"My words were cut off when I felt a sharp stinging pain on my cheek. It burned. And its impact made me drop the box, scattering everything that was in it on the ground.
"How... HOW DARE YOU SHOW UP HERE!? AFTER WHAT YOU DID... HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE HERE?!"
A drop of tear rolled down my cheek as I crouched down and gathered everything that had fallen—picture frames, cards, bracelets, soft toys, clothes, and... rings.
I put everything back in the box as how they were and with trembling, I kept the box near the doorstep before I stood up— still not able to lift my head and meet their eyes."I'm sorry," I whispered, "I shall not visit again after this," I said before I turned around to leave. My legs felt heavy. They wouldn't move but I dragged them somehow.
"YOU CAUSED THIS! YOU ARE A MONSTER!! YOU SHOULD'VE DIED INSTEAD!"
Tears wouldn't stop flowing down as I walked away. I could hear the screaming and crying. It pierced through my heart like a dagger.
My car was parked nearby but I didn't want to drive right now. I didn't wish to cause any more accidents.Unknowingly, I kept walking until I found myself standing in a nearby bustling market. It was completely packed with people. The savory smell of food hit my nose along with the noise of bargaining that reached my ear.
My eyes wandered around the marketplace until they landed on a familiar figure.
It was her. Seo Y/n.
Hazel eyes, mid—length dark black hair, and a smile so captivating.
She was with another woman who looked a bit older than her. Maybe it was her sister. She was trying the sample foods with her sister before buying them. I found myself walking up to her. Even in the crowded marketplace, she somehow managed to stand out.
Before I realized it, I was standing behind her. Just a hand on her shoulder and she'd turn around. She'd look at me with that same wide-eyed expression with a slight tint of pink blush on her cheeks.I wanted her to turn around but my entire body screamed for me to go away. And that is what I did. Before she turned around or even realized that I was standing behind her, I left as soon as I could.
I need to stay away from her.
END OF POV
I felt like someone was behind me but when I turned around, there was no one. Just a few passersby eying the shop debating whether they should buy something from here or not. But I swear I felt as if someone was behind me.
Have I finally gone crazy? I need to get psychiatric help soon.
"What do you think about this?" Ji-Hye Unnie said, holding the sample of raw marinated crab in front of me. I leaned and took a bite of the piece and there it was! The instant hit of the flavors! The perfect mixture of spice, sweetness, and saltness.
It was so delicious that it made me close my eyes to enjoy the taste."Mhmm!"
"It's tasty right?"
"Very much!"
She chuckled, "Excuse me! We'll have two packs of raw marinated crabs,"
