It started

Patrick's pov:

When I saw her in that short mint colored dress. I felt something strange, foreign feelings that I shouldn't feel. I kept on looking at her while she made her way to my car.

When she looked up from her phone, she smiled at me. Her green eyes looking at me. She looked so beautiful and it's so wrong. So wrong to look at her that way. She's my bestfriend's girlfriend. I have no right.

"We can go now Patrick" she said.

We got inside the car and I started the engine.

"Thanks for coming to get me" she said and I could feel her eyes on me. "I wouldn't have known that Gibsie was having a party"

With that I looked at her. "You didn't know?" I said shocked she shook her head. But Gibsie told Hughie to invite Katie.

"I guess he was super excited that he forgot. You know just Gibsie being Gibsie."

"I guess so. I wouldn't mind actually" she said which made me look at her with a confused expression

"I mean not being invited." She laughed "I mean all of you are friends and gibsie and claire are bestfriends so I understand."

I turned my head focusing on the road. "Don't say that claire is your friend and all of us are your friends. Not just because you're Hughie's girlfriend." I said looking at her again feeling frustrated.

She nodded but didn't say anything. But she looked sad for a moment.

When we arrived. Music was blasting loudly. But it wasn't crowded. Just some friend from tommen. Katie and I walked through the door.
Claire and Gibsie were together dancing. Johnny and Shannon were sitting on the couch laughing to god knows what. Joey was with Aoife drinking wine. Everyone was sitting in pairs. Then Hughie came from the kitchen. Looking shocked to see katie and me. He longed forward.

"I didn't know you will come katie" he said as he kissed her lips. I looked away.

"Patrick gave me a ride." She said smiling at me. "Thank you again."

"Thanks. Lad." Hughie said to me after katie went to greet the others. "I forgot to tell her. I was busy."

I looked at him "Really man. She's your girlfriend, you can't just forget."

"Yes. I know. But I have a lot on my mind these days." Hughie said sounding unconvinced

"Nevermind."

Katie's pov:

"So pretty girl. What's wrong with the frown?" Aoife said taking me out of my thoughts.

"Nothing. I just zoned out." I said smiling. "So how's the little one." I tried to change the subject and to also ask about my bestfriend's baby.

"He's good." She said "Doesn't let me sleep at night." She continued sarcastically. "But don't change the subject. Don't think that I haven't noticed how you're acting. Not your usual self. You didn't even eat anything since you stepped here"

"I'm not hungry. And I already ate at home." I said trying to sound convincing. "I rather drink wine." I raised my cup.

"I know what you're doing." Aoife said scolding. "Don't do this Katie. I know that it's hard, but you should try and seek help. Go to a therapist. I'm really worried about you." She said worriedly

I shook my head. "Don't worry. I know that you're worried and that you care. But trust me that's not why I'm not eating." I said and I hated the guilt that was eating me up in the inside. Having to lie to the only person that truly cares about you may be the worst feeling ever. But I don't want her to worry about me. She already have a lot of responsibility and her own problems. Feeding her mine don't seem fair.

I putted my cup on the table and kissed her cheeks. "I love you queen" I said teasingly "your boyfriend has been eyeing you for a long time. Poor man wants your attention"

She looked behind me to see Joey standing with Johnny and Patrick. Trying but failing to seem like he was listening to them, because his attention was on Aoife only.

Aoife blushed but looked at me. "This conversation doesn't stop here. We will talk later and I'm serious."

"Okay mam. Whatever you say." I said as I stood up. "I'm going to the kitchen to drink water. Do you want anything?"

"No. Thanks" she said and I feel Joey behind me.

"Hello red, you good?" He said as he sat next to Aoife.

"Yes. And you?" I said smiling at them.

He nodded "Good thanks for asking"

"Don't think forget Katie. We haven't finished" she eyed me
seriously.

"Okay. But stop worrying" I replied as I made my way towards the kitchen.

But as I was about to open the door handle. I froze.
