"Leher," he sat beside her.

She immediately turned her face to the other side to not look at him.

"Leher, please," he said and held her hands in his.

"Pyaar kate ho na usse?" She tried to speak in between her sobs.

"You still think so?" He asked her in disbelief.

"Vo aagayi to ab mujhe chod kar jaoge, na?" She said softly, almost accepting her overthinking words.

"Do you think so low of me?" There was nothing but disappointment in his words.

"Did I still make you feel that way? Like I'm gonna leave you? After all that I've told you?" He made her face him by turning her face towards him.

"Kya samjhu mein phir?" She broke down in his arms and pulled him closer to her.

"Mujhe pyaar sa hogaya hein, Abhi. Chod ke chale jaoge?" She whispered in his ears while sobbing and hugging his neck.

He immediately pulled her as close as possible like she was going to vanish if he didn't have her in his arms.

"But, you love Aakriti-" he immediately pulled away from her.

He cupped her cheeks with his warm hands and pulled her closer.

"I love you and only you, Leher. My heart beat for you. Nothing in this world can make me stop loving you."

She looked into his red eyes that were tearing up too.

She bursted into tears one again and covered her face with her hands.

"Don't cry, my sukoon. I don't want to be the reason for your cries once again."

He said and caressed her cheeks.

"It's too overwhelming, Abhi. It's hard." She calmed herself down and gave into his arms.

"I want to be normal with you, please. No Aakriti, no past. Just us too." He said and rubbed her arm.

"Why? Why suddenly? Before you said that Aakriti will always be a part of you," Leher tried to question him.

"Aakriti was my past, Leher. I'm pretty sure you heard her reasoning for faking her death. She was immature. I was too blind in her love to understand that,

I'm not saying this just because I found out about her. I wanted to confess since a week and well I did it today. I didn't go as planned though."

He chuckled at his words while Leher smiled at him.

"I would never fake my feelings for you and you know that too, Leher. I would never lie after what we shared these in the past few weeks. I hope you understand that." He said and rested his head on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry," leher sighed and held his palms in hers.

He looked up at her and held an eye contact till she lowered her eyes and looked at their hands.

"This is hard time for you more than me. I should've been a little strong and understanding. I know you better and should've trusted you little. It's hard knowing that the person you once loved came back. Though we had our own problems, I should've stayed by your side."

Her eyes started tearing up once again.

"I know hard it was for you too, Leher. I was ass to you since the start of our marriage and fighting for our marriage is the least I can do for you. The trust issues you have to face because of me, I need to own up to my mistakes. Please don't apologise."

He wiped her tears with the pad of his thumb and pulled her closer to his chest.

"I love you so much, my Leher. I'll never hurt you again. He whispers in her ears while she smiled slightly, pretending to sleep.

They both melted into their warm embraces, listening to their calm heartbeat and slept peacefully with each other's company.
