"Abhi?" Leher said and peeked inside the shared room of the brothers.
"Arey leher?" Prem looked up from his file and saw Leher peeping inside.
"Abhi's not here. He went out to the garden for some work," He told her as she just sighed and looked down.
"Why? What happened?"
"Oh, it's nothing bhai. I've been looking for him for a long time, his phone has been ringing and he forgot it on the dining table." She told him the reason and smiled.
"He's in the garden, give him an earful for forgetting his phone," Prem joked while Leher nodded her head and laughed, making her way to the garden.
She took slow steps towards the garden, where her husband was busying himself watering the plant.
She saw her husband watering the plants and looking ever so beautiful in his powder blue T-shirt and white cargo shorts.
"He can't be my husband," she whispered to herself after looking at his soft side.
A side that no one knew, except for one. The side that she fell in love with. The person that she always wanted.
She silently walked behind him and admired his dedication to water the plants with a pipe before trying to scare him.
"Abhi!" She suddenly jumped in front of him making him look at her direction.
"My god, Leher! You scared me," he said sarcastically and grinned at her with his pearly white teeth.
"You were supposed to get scared," she sighed and looked down disappointed.
"Sorry, baba. Next time?" He said while diverting his attention again to the plants.
"Next time?" She mocked his words and looked at him in disbelief.
"His wife who he wishes to win is standing here and he's ignoring me? The audacity." She thought to herself and let out a scoff catching Abhi's attention.
"Anything wrong?" He asked concerned of his wife's sudden scoff.
"Nothing," she secretly rolled her eyes and looked down.
"Anyways, you were continuously getting calls but you left your phone inside," she told him still in a dull mood while handing him his phone.
He threw the pipe into the plants and pulled his wife closer to him by her waist.
"Kya huan?" He asked her while looking deep into her eyes and smirking.
"Abhi, chodo. Someone will see us," she tried to remove his grip from her waist but failed miserably.
"To Kya? What will they do? Complain?" He frowned at her reasoning and pulled her closer.
"Abhi," she whispered out lowly while slowly loosening her grip on his arm.
"Kya hein?" His eyes softened at her voice.
His hands slowly reached to her soft cheeks and caressed them.
Leher closed her eyes at his touch and her breath shivered.
"Too fast, na?" He asked her with a hint of realisation of the moment.
"You think so?" She slowly opened her eyes with the hope of physical intimacy gone from her eyes.
"I want to hold you this close to once you've forgiven totally. I want to keep you by my side without any regret left. I'll earn your forgiveness and then I'll enjoy my sweet time with you. How does that sound?"
His words somewhere made Leher feel safe. Safe to think that she has a future with him, safe to think that he will always protect her and safe to think that he will always respect her boundaries.
She nodded her head and smiled at him softly.
"When did you become so caring?" She asked sarcastically while putting her hand on his chest.
"Since the time I realised your worth in my life, jaan." He connected their for foreheads.
They both closed their eyes, letting their closeness sink in.
"I'm sorry for the old me. You didn't deserve that shitty guy." He broke the silence with an unexpected sentence making Leher burst out laughing.
"Well, you are trying your best to make it up to me. It's good change." She stopped laughed and looked deep into his eyes with a smile forming on her face.
She saw something in his eyes. She saw emotions that she had never seen before. She saw a change in him.
She knew that this is the love she needs and this is the treatment she deserves.
"Thank you," Abhi's voice broke her chain of thoughts.
"Thank you for giving me a chance," he completed his sentence and kissed her forehead slowly.
That kiss was the first moment they shared together.
