Ember Lumen cherished the quiet moments at home, especially the evenings when the family gathered in the kitchen. The warmth of the Fireplace filled their home, a testament to the love and effort they had poured into their lives. Ember and her husband, Wade, had always believed in fostering an environment where their child felt safe to ask questions and express themselves freely.

One evening, while preparing dinner, their child approached them with a thoughtful expression. Ember noticed the hesitation in their steps and the way they fidgeted with their hands—something was on their mind.

"Hey there," Ember greeted with a gentle smile, setting down the knife she was using. "What the heck is going on?"

Their child shifted uncomfortably before speaking. "Mom, Dad, I've been thinking about some things... and I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing."

Wade, sensing the seriousness of the moment, turned away from the stove to give their child his full attention. "We're here for you. What's on your mind?"

Their child took a deep breath, choosing their words carefully. "I read somewhere that, as you grow up, you start having... certain feelings, and I wasn't sure what to do with them. I thought that maybe... I needed to do something to make sure I wasn't doing anything wrong."

Ember's heart softened as she understood what their child was grappling with—natural curiosity and the challenge of understanding new emotions. She wanted to approach this with the care and subtlety it deserved.

"You're at an age where it's normal to have all sorts of questions about growing up," Ember began, her tone warm and reassuring. "And it's okay to feel confused or uncertain. The most important thing to remember is that your body and your feelings are your own. There's no rush to figure everything out all at once."

Wade nodded, adding, "What you're feeling is something everyone goes through. It's part of growing up. What matters is how you handle those feelings—with respect for yourself and others."

Their child listened, absorbing the words carefully.

Ember continued, "It's good that you're thinking about what's right and what's wrong. As you grow, you'll learn that respect and understanding are key. It's not about doing something just to avoid feeling bad, but about making choices that you feel comfortable with, and that respect the people around you."

Wade placed a comforting hand on their child's shoulder. "If you ever feel unsure or have more questions, don't hesitate to talk to us. We're here to help you navigate all of this."

Their child nodded, looking more at ease. "Thanks, Mom. Thanks, Dad."

As they returned to their evening, Ember and Wade exchanged a glance, knowing that their approach had been gentle yet clear. They had given their child the tools to think critically about their feelings and actions, all while maintaining the open, trusting relationship they had worked so hard to build.

It was a subtle lesson, but one that Ember and Wade hoped would guide their child as they continued to grow and learn.
