Lavender's Lament

chapter 1: on the run...

"so.. where should we be heading?" the dark-furred monkey asks the girl sitting in the backseat of his jet flyer.

"west" the girl simply answered. She did not want to start a conversation.

"you should talk more often.." the dark-furred monkey complained tiredly.

"Just drive the jet, jet driver... I am simply here because-", "Yeah yeah because you are making sure that I don't try messing around again" Macaque said in a slightly annoyed tone while rolling his eyes at how Lady Bone Demon sent a weird girl to watch him over...

"Listen I don't want to work with you either but it's my lady's orders... I have no choice just like you" she explains tiredly.

"I have the choice to just drop you in the middle of nowhere.." the dark-furred monkey smirks as the girl sighs from boredom.

"is that a-" Before the girl gets to complete her question macaque answers "An airship..a familiar one"

"yes it is them" the girl continues looking at the compass, the girl watches as macaque starts shooting the airship, "Yeah uhh.. my lady asked for them to be alive-"

"shut it xiùyīng.." macaque says in an angry tone, xiùyīng rolls her eyes and crosses her arms watching in silence how the scene will unfold...

"oh wukong!" Macaque says in.. a weird way, xiùyīng looks a bit confused on why he is saying wukong like that-

"That's a relief I thought it was someone important.." the ginger-furred monkey said in a mocking tone.

Macaque snickers "Always the comedian..huh? Hey kiddo" he turns his gaze to MK "You missed me?".

"n-no!" MK said defensively before he turned his gaze to the guy with glasses and the girl with green highlights "Guys get us out of here!", the duo nodded and said "Right!" as they headed to the air-ship control room

'this.. girl.. looks familiar..' xiùyīng thinks to herself xiùyīng watches macaque snicker and knows.. deep down it is about to go down, she lets a quiet yelp as macaque higher the speed and continues blasting the airship missing a few times, the ship continues avoiding most of the shots and macaque looks like he is enjoying this.. after a min he gets closer to them and takes a glance at mk and wukong before he slows the speed and chuckles as they hide in the clouds, xiùyīng raises an eyebrow in confusion and gets a bit scared.. 'that monkey is a literal menace..' she sighs shaky.

"ohoho looking a bit banged up there monkey king.. the kid too! Looks like our old friend Lady Bone Demon did a number on you guys" Macaque says in a mocking tone before he chuckles.

"so what.. you are her puppet now? I mean- makes sense.. you did always have a side-kick kinda vibe" the ginger-furred monkey snickers.

xiùyīng could tell it angered Macaque off to call him a 'side kick', watching macaque gets called one makes her chuckle a bit, karma likes to strike in weird timing, she gets snapped out of her thoughts and yelps as Macaque highs the speed and heads towards the airship wanting to hit sun wukong, after he messes it he jumps off his jet and leaves it in the air and heads to attack monkey king, leaving xiùyīng in her seat, she panics and takes the belt off and jumps as she does a superhero landing 'ow... that indeed does hurt' after she stands up probably and winces, she watches the fighting between macaque and wukong silently before she glances at mk.. "huh.." she wonders who is that boy something about him sounds well.. seems off.

"you gonna stand there?! Grab the kid already!" he shouts at the flower girl.

She sighs and summons her spear and charges at mk before raising the spear high up, mk dodges and trips her over, she grunts and gets up seeing he has a crowbar, she narrows her eyes "You think this will stop me?" she questioned mockingly.

The boy shrugs "I dunno... but, I can try?"

She snickers "All right... let's see you try..." She charges at him aiming to hit the crowbar out of his hand

A weird green light comes out of nowhere, macaque looks shocked and xiùyīng startled and looks in the direction where the green light came from, macaque turns his gaze to the girl with green highlights, "Huh.. interesting.." macaque says before the girl shots him again with the same laser ray, he jumps around trying to avoid her attacks before he lands at the iron railings of the ships.

"you want to get to my monkey men you got to get through me first!" the girl with green highlights says protectively.

"ah... you must be the dragon girl I've heard so little about.." macaque says as he goes down from where he previously was and takes a few steps close to them "Little girl you can shoot me all you want it won't do you any good.."

xiùyīng started to enjoy the scene a bit, xiùyīng took a few steps closer and pointed her spear at the trio.. directly at mei "Listen dragon pony girl.. your bravery and protecting your friends is admirable but it has to end.. either hand monkey king and the boy.. or you see what happens to heroes.."

Mei scoffs "No I don't.. why don't you show me?" as both Mei and xiùyīng narrow their eyes at each other...

"maybe you should not show us! But hey if you wanna make an omelet you gotta break a few engines" MK says as he does a dramatic pose.

xiùyīng snaps out and turns to mk and both she and Macaque raise their eye-brows and narrow their eyes in confusion "Uhh.. what?" macaque and xiùyīng ask in unison

"i-i I don't know i thought it to be cool! J-just" MK huffs

xiùyīng chuckles at him and crosses her arms "This guy.."

"Whatever!" MK says before he throws the crowbar at Macaque "Ha ha!"

Macaque tilts his head slightly as he puts a hand on his hip and xiùyīng just rolls her eyes with a slight smile on her face, "woah.. didn't see that one coming.." macaque says sarcastically, xiùyīng and Macaque notice weird noises from the side of the airship and turn their gaze to the engine.. that had the damn crowbar in it, xiùyīng looks a bit startled "not good-"

The engine explodes and the airship becomes unstable, macaque and Xiuying fall off the airship, and as Macaque does the casual dramatic 'I am falling to my death' scream, she crosses her arms and narrows her eyes at him while falling through the clouds and waits till he finishes screaming.

He chuckles "That was fun".

"you are the most annoying person I know.." xiùyīng hissed in anger.

"what can I say... I am dramatic!" he shrugs.

"..so.. where are we heading now?" he questions the flower girl.

xiùyīng glances down then at him then realisation hits her and looks down... it's just the ocean beneath them "Looks like we gonna swim.." she looks a bit unsure

Macaque sits in the air not caring about anything "A nice swim it is then..".

"not afraid to get your fur or hair or whatever wet?" she questions with a raised eyebrow.

"nope," he simply answers.

"ugh.. great.." she says while putting her phone in a plastic bag so it doesn't get wet.. always be prepared with a plastic bag no matter what the context.

It takes a few mins before they hit the ocean and xiùyīng struggles to breathe for a few moments, macaque, on the other hand, is enjoying her suffering "Oh.. can't breathe underwater flower girl?? So sad!" he says in a sarcastic tone, she rolls her eyes and her eyes turn purple and she gets surrounded by purple smoke and transforms into a mermaid, macaque looks unfazed "is that why you smell like fish?" he smirks, xiùyīng rolls her eyes "shut up"
