The group walked through the mirror of Heartslabyul in the Hall of Mirrors, arriving at a stunning red mansion with vibrant red roses trees on the side of the path.
Grim hopped out of (y/n)'s arms, his eyes wide with awe. "Dang, this place is swank! This is nothing like our dumpster of a dorm."
"Comparisons will only make you more miserable" (y/n) replied, her tone even. Looking at the mansion one last time before following the two Hearslabyul boys.
They walked through the a maze filled with rose trees. "Aww yeah, I am getting my paint on!" They heard someone say in the maze.
"Ah, someone's here" Grim pointed, spotting a boy with light orange hair tied back in a short ponytail, a small red diamond tattoo on his right cheek.
'Do all students of Heartslabyul have tattoos on their faces?' (y/n) wondered, glancing at Deuce and Ace, then back at the guy with a diamond.
"They all gotta be red, or it's "off with my head"!" The guys declared dramatically.
(y/n) tapped her finger against her chin, "I've seen this somewhere before..." she muttered under her breath, a fuzzy image of the dream she had flashed in her mind for a second.
The boy noticed the group of freshmen, tilting his head in curiosity. "Huh...? You guys need something?" He asked, a playful smirk crossing his lips.
"What are you doing here?" Ace asked back
"Are you blind? I'm painting these roses red, duh." The boy answered as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
"What? Why?!" Deuce asked, genuinely baffled.
"Ah ha ha. So naïve, you put the "n" in newb." The boy laughed. He took a good look at them and his eyes widened in realization, "Hold the phone, I know you! You're the ones who broke a billion-thaumark chandelier and nearly got expelled for it, yeah?"
Ace face palmed, his expression a mix of embarrassment and exasperation "That chandelier is gonna haunt us till the day we graduate, isn't it?" he muttered under his breath
"And you! You're the one who ate the housewarden's tart that same night!" He pointed at Ace. "You guys are THE hot topic around campus! I've gotta get in on this fleeting fame. I'm just gonna grab a selfie real quick..." The orange haired pulled out his phone and pulled Deuce and Ace in the frame with Grim looking at them dumbfounded and (y/n) just blinked with a stoic expression.
"It's cool if I post this on Magicam, right? Gimme your names so I can tag you" The boy already focused on his phone, fingers tapping away.
"Magicam?" (y/n) tilted her head, genuinely confused.
"I'm Deuce Spade" Deuce introduced himself.
"Ace" Ace added, crossing his arms.
"I'm Grim, and that's my henchwoman, (y/n)" (y/n) looked glanced at Grim, but didn't bother saying anything.
"Uploaded! Sweet. Oh, I'm Cater Diamond , by the way. I'm a junior here at Heartslabyul. But Cater is fine. Or Cay-Cay if you're cray-cray! Sooooo nice to meetcha." Cater flashed a wide grin.
