"Hello Sir....ready to go?", Naina asked from the pick up point they decided on.
"Hmm. Just trying to call Dr. Shalini", he said avoiding her eyes.
She can spot that he didn't even changed for the occasion.
"Han Shalini. I am sorry but I couldn't join. I am having an urgent call at night and can't skip it....yes, some other time maybe. Have fun. Bye", he said finishing the conversation as soon as possible.
"Aap nahin aayenge humare sath?", she asked with a disappointing face.
"Hmm....you guys enjoy. Let me see you all through the gate", he said with a half smile looking briefly in her eyes.
She is looking at him without a break. Trying to find out something. She can easily tell that he is feeling guilty but taken this hard decision. It's so weird that she can now read him like an open book.
"Hey Naina...you are ready. Good", Yudi said putting his hand over her arm.
"Why are you not coming sir? This is not fair", he complained.
"Sorry but I am occupied Captain Sahni", he said with an even colder half smile.
He raised his eyes but then Shalini distracted them by insisting on leaving early.
They left but Naina is very upset. She is looking forward for some casual time with him. Trying to get some answers of many questions his diary has raised.
They had a couple of rounds of whiskey and everyone is visibly high, when Yudi touched the subject again.
"What the hell is the issue with Rajveer Sir?", Yudi asked Naina in particular.
"What do you mean by me? Mujhe kya pata?", she replied shrugging her shoulders.
"Tujhe nahin pata ka Kya matlab hota hai? Pata Kar....Sir ke Bare me sab kuch tujhe pata hona Chahiye", Yudi said.
"Han jaise Sir to bada Mujhe update dete hai Shalini mam ki tarah", Naina retorted with a frown.
"Ab Shalu ke jaise perfect har koi kahan ho sakta hai....meri jan to sabse best hai", Yudi said leaning at Shalini looking with all the love in his eyes.
"Haye mere majnu....nazar na lag jaye tujhe", Naina said the stunting to take away the evil eyes.
"Mujhe bhi mouka de Apni aur Sir ki nazar utarne ka", Yudi said putting an arm over Shalini's shoulder who is now dozing off.
"Kahan se du mouka? Sit to mujhse aise door bhagte hai jaise mai koi corona virus hun...kripyra 6 foot ki doorie banaye rakhe", Naina said rolling her eyes.
Shalini chuckled in sleep.
"Janu....so jao", Yudi said patting her head.
"Shut up. Leave me....i know what you need Naina", Shalini said pushing Yudi aside to sit up straight.
"What?", Naina asked cluelessly.
"Expert advice", Shalini said slamming on the table. Some waiters gave them angry looks.
"Aur ye expert hai kaun?"
"Jaan....i thought you are the expert in these things", Yudi said putting some stray hairs of her behind ears.
"I am....but yahan Pyar ke expert ki nai...Rajveer ke expertise ki jarurat hai...we need someone who knows him best....", Shalini said completely intoxicated.
"To Naina nai chalegi?", Yudi asked.
She shakes her head in denial, "nopeszzzzz.....call Chouhan Sahab. Unko Rajveer ke bare me Shayad kuch Aisa pata ho jo hume nai pata".
