Odysseus, the elder, knew his time was coming to an end. He passed his wisdom to Telemachus and me, urging us to prepare for a time when Ithaca would be tested again. He spoke often of the gods, warning us that they were never truly gone from the affairs of mortals. He spent his final days with Odysseus Jr., telling him stories of his adventures, hoping to instill in him the strength and cunning of their lineage.
