The Perfect Time to Reset

After learning of Azzi's deception, Paige wasted no time in getting back to Storrs. The whole thing was a blur to Paige as one moment she's celebrating Azzi's dagger of a three from half court, then next she's learning that her ex boyfriend tried to kiss her, which she chose to keep from her. While the team remained in Nashville, preparing to head to Dallas to face Virginia Tech, Azzi had no choice but to stay behind while Paige worked through her anger. Azzi would text in the days they spent apart from each other, but never received a response or if she did receive a response, it was very brief with no further conversation to be had. Devising a plan to get the two to talk, Colleen dragged Azzi into her hotel room to sit in front of her lap top while Colleen sat in front of hers. Surprised to see the blonde on her screen, Azzi felt a wave of butterflies as even though she hadn't seen her in two days, she still looked gorgeous to her.

"Good, so now every one is here" Colleen said as she looked on at the two girls on the screen in what was a three screen divide. "Can we at least say hello to each other like good girlfriends?" she asked.

"Hey" Paige muttered as she tried to avoid looking at Azzi directly.

"Hey" Azzi smiled weakly as she knew was trying to avoid her gaze.

"So, I've gathered you both together on this forced zoom call because you are both getting on my last nerves" Colleen told them both. "So in an effort to rectify this latest drama amongst you two, we are going to get down to the heart of the issues between you two" she said.

"I really don't have time for this..." Paige began to say.

"Yeah, she has a basketball workout and I have walkthroughs in an hour" Azzi said as she still remembered Paige's schedule better than Paige did at times.

"That's sweet that you think I was asking you two because we are doing this impromptu couples therapy, as I have studied over my psychology notes a many times and am ready analyze the shit out of you two" Colleen said.

"Colleen..." Azzi began to say.

"Okay, starting with the latest drama that I have most recently heard about at all of 1 am in the morning. Azzi's ex boyfriend of all of 3 months, decides to transfer to UCONN in hopes of winning her affections and then tries to kiss her, which Azzi ultimately stopped. Azzi doing the dumbass thing, decides to lie about those two events" Collen summarized the current issue in her relationship with Paige. "Azzi, what do you have to say about that?" she asked as Azzi hid her face in her hands.

"...okay, I'm a dumbass for what I did and not being truthful about it" Azzi admitted as she looked on at her computer screen. "I didn't admit because I was just tired of arguing about stupid stuff that wasn't an issue, I don't want to be with Brian. I have tried on numerous occasions occasions to discourage him from coming to UCONN. I can't control him..." she began to say.

"But you could control telling me about him" Paige quickly replied as she listened to her girlfriends explanation.

"Okay, lets say that Azzi would've told you about Brian and what happened. What would've been your reaction Paige?" Colleen then directed the question to Paige.

"I would've been pissed" Paige quickly replied

"See!?! That's why I didn't tell you" Azzi reasoned. "You being pissed would've been you looking at me like I'm welcoming him to UCONN because you think I have some hidden feelings for him. Anytime you think I want something other than your or in your mind better than you, it leads to an unnecessary argument" she stated.

"Okay, this seems to be something. Paige, does Azzi have a point?" Colleen then asked.

"I mean she may have a point, but I wasn't given the opportunity to access that there isn't anything there because she didn't tell me. The history behind you, Brian, and myself is not great; so it would lead me to believe something might be there, especially when you've been talking to him since Montana" Paige stated.
