Eevee pondered quietly on the couch, inhaling Umbreon's familiar scent from a week ago. Then the sickening scent of Espeon, a combination of vanilla and flowers attacked her nostrils, and she coughed in the empty night, disgusted.

The three couples had retired to their respective rooms for the night, with Jolteon in his same spot upstairs. So Eevee was all alone, downstairs, quietly formulating a plan to seperate them. Then she put it into action.

Quickly, she went to the backyard through a flap in the door, then leapt over the fencing by climbing a tree after much effort. Then she hurried through the dark, empty streets and into the forest.

Over the past few days, Eevee had slowly gathered scraps of information from Umbreon and Espeon through repetitive probing, much to Espeon's annoyment, and had combined them with her own knowledge of the forest.

Flying into the underbrush, the dark forest was full of dark typed pokemon prowling their territories.

"If I'm right...he ought to be..right..here," Eevee murmured, hopping over a line of boulders. Immediately, the night came awake with howls as they sensed an intruder.

Eevee was quickly tackled by a Houndour, which growled in her face. His breath made Eevee gag in disgust. "I caught the intruder!" The pack quickly closed in, snuffling and growling at her.

Then a fearsome Houndoom, undoubtedly the leader of the pack, arrived. "And who might you be, little one?"

"I've come to make you an offer. One you can't resist," Eevee said loudly. "Release me at once, you mutts!"

The Houndoom gave a command of barks, and the Houndours released her and slunk back into the shadows, patiently watching.

"Your courage amuses me. And your offer intrigues me. Explain."

"I heard you're into the Eevee that you encountered a few weeks back," Eevee said.

         "Yes. And?"

"The two have evolved into Umbreon and Espeon."

"What a surprise," The Houndoom said sarcastically. "I already knew that."

"Well, my proposition is that you help me get the Umbreon. And you would have the Espeon. Of course, we would need reinforcements. A wide variety of different types of Pokemon. But mostly a lot of psychic types," Eevee explained.

"Intriguing. I do have many contacts. I am willing to accept your offer. I will supply you with myself, a Crobat, Liepard, Sneasel, and a Mightyena. Is that good enough for you?" Houndoom asked menacingly. "Yes. So here's the plan..." Eevee said with a smile.

While eating dinner, a mix of kibble and berries, Umbreon intertwined tails with Espeon, flashing a smile. She rolled her eyes, a bit exasperated at the fact that at lunchtime, Umbreon had gone off to gather berries from the forest without telling her. She had been worried sick, and nearly fainted when Umbreon came back alive and unharmed.

After evolving, it seemed Espeon had opened her heart a bit more to him. But it meant more. She trusted him. And Umbreon was determined to keep it that way.

"So how was your day, my love?" Eevee asked, walking in. "I particularly enjoyed our cuddles. Did you?"

Umbreon choked on his kibble. "What?!"

Espeon stared at Umbreon, the warmth in her eyes fading. "Is that true? You-you cuddled with Eevee today? Is that where you were at the whole lunch?"
