"TO COPY THE HUMANS, Toei-x* released the three Digimon movies together as one movie, Digimon: The Movie 20,000."

You nod along to Quis' words as the two of you step out of McDonald's and into the sunlight. It's much hotter now; part of you wished it would rain, but you're not eager to see how this body holds up against water.

"The first movie is before the TV show, the second is a little after, and the third is after the second season... I think." Quis recounts, "It is very emotional."

"I wonder why Toei-x copied humans..." You muse, stretching your arms. "At most, it's kinda funny."

The octoling nods rapidly, "That's why they did it!"

"Oh?" You guess that makes sense. It'd probably cause a buzz on social media and have people raving about how silly the company was. Maybe they have brand Twitter accounts here, too, though it's probably not called Twitter here...

The babbling of birds floated through the silence as the two of you stood aimlessly in front of McDonald's. Well, what now? Despite how this mundanity has served to calm your nerves, you're still eager to see what Inkopolis has to offer. (Even if this Inkopolis is only a—)

You shake your head, you'll worry about that later. You rock back and forth on your heels, eyes tracing over the storefronts ahead of you.

"...Do you wanna go shopping?"

The smell of sterile shoes wafts through the air, and you briefly recoil at the scent. Quis didn't seem to mind as much, passing through the sliding doors and waiting patiently for you. The two of you entered a Tentatek shoe store; not the most interesting shop, but it was closest to McDonald's, and you were curious about its wares. If you recall correctly, Tentatek only had ten or so pairs of shoes in Splatoon 1, and even less clothing and headgear. How could they afford to run a store with 20 pieces of gear at most?

You glanced around the place, taking in the bright pink and white branding splattered across the walls. On your right was the checkout, and on your left were a few mirrors and spinny clothing racks for shirts. There wasn't any headgear you could see, but there were a couple of bins of sweatbands and other accessories near the shirts. The main attraction was the towering shoe racks. About 3 inklings tall and a muted magenta hue, the shoe racks stretched to the back of the shop.

"Huh..." You breathe out, moving next to Quis, "I didn't think one brand would have so many shoes."

The octoling gives you a wide-eyed nod, a sort of "I know, right?" look.

"Most shoes are not gear for battle." He explains, leading you to one of the aisles, "Some are for other sports, hiking, and home."

You ignore the mirrors as you follow him.
