Prologue

(Dr Kel pov)

I sigh as I watch Ena give her graduation speech I hate this mainly the fact I have to be here. My brain tunes back in as I hear Ena say "When you look into the void the void will stare back" My eyes widen slightly as I feel my head hurt. "Fuck my head" I mutter as I hold it tightly. I sigh and take an ibuprofen from my bag and swallow it with a sigh and as Ena walks off the stage I walk up onto the stage and say "Hey my names Noah but call me Kel personally I never thought I'd graduate but thanks to the help of my dear French Friend Ena who so kindly motivated me throughout my time here I have everything I have now to thank her for so uh thanks or whatever" I say finishing my mediocre speech as I walk off stage. 

I sit back down in my seat beside Ena as the dean gives his own send off speech as he finishes his speech everyone including me throws our caps into the air signaling our true graduation. "So Ena meet up at my place?" I ask curiously and she nods with a smile "Of course my dear Mon cherie~" I nod and wave bye as i walk away Heading to my car.

I start the car and begin the long drive home I turn on the stereo "in news just hours earlier the mysterious company known as Alpine signal observatorium has purchased land in Sweden that was previously known as Dunkeltaler forest and has signed a partnership with Stolas and Direct Associate Power otherwise known as DAP" I sigh and change the radio to actual music and continued to drive. I finally reach home and sigh as I get out of my car and enter my small apartment I put my coat on a wall hook. I walk over to my stove and begin to make a small meal to prepare for Ena.

(An hour timeskip brought to you by kerfur default dancing) 

I hear a knock on my door followed by a voice I could recognize anywhere "Kel darling I'm here!" I let out wry laugh "Same old Ena" I say as I open the door with a smile. "Kel darling looking as err tired as ever!" She says as I laugh softly "Thanks Ena and you look as proudly French as ever" She lets out a huff "Darling I changed my hair!" "Oh yeah you cut it shorter nice look" I say as I step aside to let her in.

"So Ena how was the after-party?" I ask as I sit down at my table "Oh it was delightful you should have been there darling~!" I sigh and shrug "Eh I'm not that partial to party especially with big crowds you know?". She sighs and I shrug again "You know you shouldn't expect much from me" She nods "So how was the last meeting of the occult club you made?" Ena sighs and says in a dramatic voice "It was terrible Mon Cheri we did a ritual to keep in touch~!" I sigh and rub my head "Jesus Ena" I say with a short laugh.

She laughs softly and we begin to eat making short conversations while we eat "So Kel you know what your gonna do now that we graduated?" I shrug "Don't know to be honest" She sighs and shakes her head "Darling you must know!" I shrug "I don't know Ena I could go and work in Hawaii on the Keck telescope they could use some help" She sighs again and shakes her head as she goes back to eating. 

I shrug and go back to eating as well Shortly after we finish Ena stands up "Well Mon Cheri I was nice I must go now" I nod "Bye Ena and hey take care of yourself ok?" she smiles softly "I will Mon Cheri thank you~!" I smile and nod "Bye Ena" She leaves and I sigh and begin to clean up.

(3 years later)

"Wow jobs have dried up" I think to myself with a groan as I slam the newspaper down on the table. My phone begins to ring as I check the number gaining a small smile as I answer it "Hey Ena!" "Hello Mon Cheri I have a quick question for you~" I raise an eyebrow "Yeah Ena?" "You do not have a job yes and are willing to work for any pay?" "Yeah I am really I'm willing to do anything" I can hear her smile as she explains happily "Mon Cheri I have the best job!""Whats that?" "Ok so you will be making a very good amount but the job is very stressing and many have ahem quit" I raise an eyebrow but I'm not one to back off just because others have quit "Im willing whats the job?" "You shall be working at a top of the line facility that the great Dr Bao designed of course it is isolated in a private national park" I let out a hmm.

"What will be my actual job while there?" "You shall work as a Gardner a technician and you will be collecting signal data that will be coming directly from space Mon cheri~" "All I can say is you'll be making six figures a year" I let out a sharp gasp "S-six figures a year!" "Yes Mon Cheri you'll be there for six years max of course you can always stay there for much longer~" I smile happily "Ill take the job!" I say with zero hesitation "Ok Mon Cheri pack your things you start next week~" I nod and hang up.

(Next week on the job site)

I sigh as I look back at the truck driving away "Could have at least driven me to the base" I mutter as I grip my suitcase handle tightly and begin to walk to the base...

(Short starter chapter but of course this is just to get started on the story and a small teaser as I begin to write newer chapters~! have a good day/night my lovely readers~!)
