Rez

He looked around the dark room, she heard Pollux's faint snores and he walked over to her. He put a hand down on her head gently and Pollux's eyes opened slowly, she stared up at him sleepily before she smiled at him sweetly in her sleepy daze. If anything happens to her I am going to be so mad, she's already been through so much, she doesn't deserve to go through more. 

I got her to trust me to this point, and I will continue to build that trust. However, it's become obvious him that Pollux doesn't know as much as she should, Master has said that she can live here, and considering her age... yeah... "Pollux" he said nervously and Pollux mumbled sleepily, Rez took a deep breath as he wondered how he should say this without her freaking out. 

"Pollux, you're going to school" Rez said nervously, he felt Pollux stiffen under him and Rez began to rub her head gently "so you can learn stuff, maybe you'll make friends too" he saw Pollux's face and oh boy did he not like it. She wasn't taking this well, "what?" she squeaked "but I'm an adult-" "no, you're not" he said softly to her, "you need to learn, you have so much to learn."

Pollux stared in panic before she began to beg him not to go but he picked her up off the couch, Pollux clung to him and Rez shook Taurus awake, Taurus grunted and Rez sighed "you too, your going to school" Taurus grunted "what?" "Rez please!" Pollux pleaded "what if they hurt me-?" This was another reason why he needed to do this. 

He didn't want her to think everyone she met except him, Taurus, and Wither was going to hurt her. He wanted her to make friends, and maybe that fear will die down a tiny bit if she has friends, even just one. "They won't" Rez said softly to her, he set her down after unhooking her fingers and took the blanket away from her. 

Taurus was confused and Rez said softly to her "you can text me if you need me, but if anything happens I want you to talk to one of the teachers, okay?" "no-!" Pollux pleaded but Rez nuzzled her head softly making her shut up, "Pollux, go to the bathroom and take a shower, you need it, Taurus, your next" Taurus mumbled "what's happening?" "you're going to school" "what?" Taurus shrieked in shock and horror as he finally processed what that meant, Rez pushed Pollux towards the bathroom after giving her the clothes. 

Pollux looked terrified and stressed, he told them before, apparently they both just forgot. He had noticed that they both forgot and realized he had to tell them about it again the night before, however they both fell asleep before he could. 

He nuzzled Pollux head again and he said "take some deep breaths okay, it's going to be okay" Pollux's breathing was heavy and shaky and he asked her in concern "do you need help?" Pollux stared at him with a betrayed look and Rez freaked out internally, "Pollux, you're going at ten and coming back at four, so you'll come back home, right here with me" Pollux clung to the cloths and squeaked "what if- what if Negative Pollux-" "she wont" Rez said softly to her.

Negative Pollux shouldn't be able to get in again, they have dealt with the problem and defenses were higher around the wall around the city. Things outside that wall were dangerous, so unbelievably dangerous and horrifying. That wall had been built centuries ago for safety, and aside from Negative Pollux they haven't had any encounters with dangerous beings.

Pollux sniffed "but what if someone attacks me?" "no one will" Rez said softly, "it's a safe place" "but I don't need to go" "you do need to go, you need to learn. I'll get your backpack and lunch set up, okay? You take a shower" Pollux stared at him before forcing herself into the bathroom. 

He hoped she didn't just cry in there as he packed the stuff, Taurus stared at him in shock and Rez sighed "you need to learn, do you even know algebra?" Taurus had a confused face and Rez said sadly "knew it" "what's... algebra?" "maybe you'll learn it this year, what do you know math wise?" "uhhh" Taurus trailed off much to his concern. 

So Rez asked him a simple math problem, "6 x 4?" Taurus said "24!" "good!" he said in relief, at least he knows that, he made some quick lunches and Wither yelled "I want that cookie!" he jumped around his feet and Rez gave him a cookie before packing a cookie into each lunch, he hesitated while closing Pollux's lunch before grabbing a piece of paper, he wrote a quick message on it. 

He quickly packed the message hoping she'd be able to read it because his handwriting is messy and will always be messy, he put the lunch's in the backpacks and he knocked on the bathroom door and yelled to Pollux "Taurus needs to go in!" suddenly the door was shoved open in his face and he yelped and jumped back, Pollux stood there in the outfit he chose for her. 

She looked like a ball of anxiety and stress and... her hair was soaked. "Pollux..." he sighed softly, he led her back into the bathroom. Rez grabbed a towel and began to dry her hair, Pollux did look like she cried and Rez was worried for the fifth time if this was a good idea, but he knew she needed to branch her connections out more. 

He couldn't be the only one that brought her comfort, he dried her hair as much as he could with the towel before giving up and grabbing a hair dryer and drying her hair out with that instead. He brushed her hair some more before leaving the bathroom and forced Taurus into the bathroom "take a shower, here's some clothes" he closed the door and grabbed Pollux's shoulder and pulled her over carefully. 

She sniffled looking like an absolute mess, a mess with styled hair, and he said softly to her "it's okay" he let her cling to his side, she just kept pleading him and he wiped her face and gave her the backpack, she took it with shaky hands and Taurus quickly left the bathroom. He looked better than Pollux did, his hair was dry and brushed, not sopping wet and making a pool of water around him.

"Wither will be fine" Rez reassured Pollux "i'll keep him safe" the lock down has ended now and school was starting late for many of the students, so Pollux wasn't going to be going in months late. She might be going in blind though, and she looks very different from the other students. I hope she doesn't get bullied, that'd be awful. 

"Make some friends okay" he said softly to her, he gave Taurus his backpack. Taurus still looked confused and disoriented as he rushed them through the door, Rez tried desperately to fix Pollux's tear streaked face up with his suit as he rushed to where the school bus will be. 

"Look" he said to them "go onto that bus" he pointed at the school bus and Pollux shook her head and hid her face into him. Rez sighed and gently unhooked her from him and said softly "you'll be okay, when school ends go back onto the bus. If you somehow miss it text me and I'll come and pick you up, you too Taurus" Taurus's ears were pinned to his head. 

This was stressful for all of them, Rez walked Pollux and Taurus to the school bus, he was aware of the children gawking at him as he apologized to the bus driver "sorry sir, she's nervous" the bus driver seemed a little irritated but didn't say anything and Rez finally managed to get Pollux and Taurus onto the bus and Taurus just led Pollux to a seat and tucked his knees into his chest.

Rez waved to them, he was scared but he kept telling himself that this was for the best. It'll be fine- he took a deep breath as some kids yelled his name and waved at him for his attention. He turned over and they yelled in excitement "hi Rez!" Rez waved at them and they were practically squealing.

The bus started and Rez watched Pollux doing grabby hands of desperation as the bus drove away, Rez could only hope this ended well and didn't end up with him getting a call from the school saying that he had to pick Taurus or Pollux up because of a panic attack or something. 

I'll be fine- he forced himself to his room and Wither whined "where's Pollux?" Rez just sighed "she'll be back soon" It'll be fine! Rez just took some deep breaths to calm his nerves and turned his hologram off do not disturb, they'll be fine, Pollux will be fine.
