006.CHAPTER SIX—
"fuck you right back henderson"
────────────────────────IT'S A FUNNY THING, HIGH SCHOOL. i was the talk of the school for the duration of first and second period, but after break i was old news. i decided to take myself out of the equation of the madness of high school during break, so i headed to the side of the back of the school building. then i sat myself down on the floor and pulled out my pack of marlboro cigarettes. as i placed one between my lip and sparked it up, i heard feet shuffle along the gravel of the floor.
i blew the smoke out that i had inhaled, and turned to the side and as the smoke cloud disintegrated, steve appeared. i rolled my eyes, "fuck off harrington" i snapped, shooting him a glare, "well, fuck you right back henderson" he said chuckling. i looked at him dumbfounded and rolled my eyes again, "what do you want steve?" i asked. "i wanted to talk to you, it was a pretty shitty thing what blane did" he said making me look at him shocked, but seconds later my face hardened, "please it had you written all over it" i said, standing up.
steve moved to the other side and leaned again the wall that was in front of the wall i was leaning on. he crossed his arms as his face hardened into a glare, "you really think i'd do that to you? look, i don't like you deborah, that's no secret, but i wouldn't want to humiliate you like that" he snapped clearly frustrated, my expression softened for a moment but then i scoffed, "whatever harrington" i said as i took another drag on my cigarette.
as i blew out the smoke once again, i looked at him again, "is that all" i said with a sarcastic tone and demeanour, steve rolled his eyes and pushed off the wall to come closer to me, "you're impossible do you know that?" he snarled, i smirked then nodded, "i've been told". my sarcasm clearly frustrated him further making him move closer to me while i moved back.
i continued to move back until my back hit the wall behind me, then steve took both of his hands and rested them against the wall at either side of my shoulders, enclosing me in. "what are you doing asshole" i asked rolling my eyes at the boy in front of me, steve smirked and said, "i can see right through you henderson, you're not as tough as you let people believe, so stop pretending" and with that he walked away, leaving me feeling a sense of confusion yet oddly enough— comfort.

I SHOOK MY HEAD OF MY THOUGHTS, after the weird interaction i had just had with the hair of the school— better known as steve harrington. i stamped on my cigarette once i threw it to the floor, i was trying to get out all my built up frustration. i don't know why but there was just something about that boy that vexed me. maybe it was his smugness, or his arrogance— it's probably his stupid hair.
