Back at the Mikaelson compound, the atmosphere was thick with tension. Klaus paced the room, every so often glancing at his siblings. They had spent the past hour brainstorming, trying to piece together who could be behind the threats against him and Caroline.

Elijah leaned against the wall, arms crossed, his expression serious. “We need to consider the possibility that this is someone who knows your history, Klaus. Someone who has a reason to come after you.”

“Someone who has a vendetta,” Kol added, his tone light yet laced with concern. “Perhaps one of your numerous enemies from Mystic Falls or New Orleans. You’ve made quite a few in your time.”

“Or someone from our family’s past,” Rebekah suggested, her voice sharp. “You’ve made many enemies along the way. It’s hard to keep track of them all.”

Klaus clenched his fists, frustration boiling beneath the surface. “I don’t need a reminder of my mistakes. I need answers. Whoever this is, they’re playing a dangerous game, and I won’t let them drag Caroline into it.”

Kol raised an eyebrow, his teasing demeanor falling away. “So you do care about her, then?”

Klaus shot him a glare. “That’s not the point, Kol. If they’re coming after her, it means they’re willing to cross lines I won’t allow. I won’t let anything happen to her.”

Freya, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up. “We need to gather more information. If they’ve made contact with Caroline, we can use that to our advantage. Maybe we can lure them out.”

Elijah nodded, “Agreed. We should keep a close eye on her until we find out who is behind this. The last thing we need is to give them an opportunity to strike.”

As they continued to strategize, Klaus couldn’t shake the feeling of unease creeping in. He knew Caroline would do everything in her power to protect herself, but she was vulnerable. The thought gnawed at him, fueling his determination to keep her safe.
